North Western Station

Even though the train platform is officially known as the Ogilvie Transportation Center and the retail area is officially known as Citicorp Center, most Chicagoans and taxi drivers know the train station at Canal and Madison streets as North Western Station. Preservationists lost the battle to save the old North Western Station, but the new version, an office building/rail terminal designed by Chicagoan Helmut Jahn, is airy, attractive and commuter-friendly, serving about 40,000 passengers a day.
