Sugargasm: Desserts That Are Better Than Sex

Nothing beats a warm, chocolate chip cookie fresh from the oven; except when the cookie is giant, covered in vanilla ice cream and comes in a piping hot skillet. Such is the case with the cookie skillet dessert at Bull and Bear. Sure, it's big enough to share--but we guarentee you won't want to.

After a healthy dinner of spring rolls and lemongrass chicken, you've certainly earned the right to indulge in dessert. The clear winner here is the coconut macaroon dessert--an oversized, decadent coconut-flavored concoction covered with creamy vanilla bean ice cream.

There are few people who don't rave about the dessert options at Hub 51--they are all marvelous. But the clear winner is Martha's carrot cake--a signature recipe from the owners' mom, consisting of rich, dense carrot cake with sugary-sweet cream cheese frosting, and finished with a dollop of perfectly-sweetened whipped cream.

Everything in this organic bakery is sugargasmic, but the cake balls--little round bites of cake mixed with creamy frosting and dipped in cholate coating--are outta this world. Our favorite? The red velvet, mixed with cream cheese frosting and sprinkled with crushed nuts.

There's no argument as to why this dessert has its name; the ridiculous-- a ball of tempura ice cream, vanilla ice cream wrapped with ginger carrot cake, walnuts, caramel sauce and whipped creme cheese --is a splurge well worth the calories.
