The Violet Hour
Read Reviews1520 N Damen Ave, Chicago, IL 60622 (map)
This premium cocktail lounge in Bucktown is best suited to companies that take workplace confidentiality to the extreme. This spot is so secretive, in fact, that it's barely noticeable from the street: There's no signage, no windows, just a man in a dark suit handpicking entrants at the door. Things warm inside at the dimly lit bar, manned with some of the best mixologists in the city; while all is absorbed by soaring drapes. What happens in The Violet Hour truly stays in The Violet Hour.

Catalyst Ranch
Write a review656 W Randolph St Ste 3W, Chicago, IL 60661 (map)
This mismatched loft space in the West Loop works brings out the party in even the shyest of office managers. By the end of the night, all will be showboating thanks to the break-the-ice goodies like the blue "Britney" wigs and multicolored hula hoops, which become progressively funnier with each drink. Don't worry: There's food to line that stomach. The Ranch works with six different caterers.

Eve
Write a review840 N Wabash Ave, Chicago, IL 60610 (map)
To those who fancy themselves a Carrie, Samantha, Miranda or Charlotte: Meet your new friend Eve. This stylish Gold Coast boite easily hosts intimate gatherings for firms filled with city kitten types--perhaps a boutique public relations firm or high-end salon. The food is fabulous--hoisin-glazed pork belly, mmm--and the white leather chairs are as buttery as a Bottega Veneta purse.

ajasteak -- CLOSED

For the office that isn't large enough to finance perks like on-site childcare, but never skimps on a holiday party, we recommend this Kobe beef steakhouse and sushi bar at the Dana Hotel. Slick and modern, it's the hipster's answer to the stodgy chophouses so commonplace in Chi-Town. A floating sushi bar and semi-closed off tatami room also lend to a feel of exclusivity, like having your own VIP lounge at a club.

Va Pensiero
Read Reviews1566 Oak Ave, Evanston, IL 60201 (map)
Tradition. The boss always makes a toast, the swag bags burst with fun toys like iPods and you're left feeling more valued at the office. This Evanston Italian restaurant is perfect if it's old-school class your company craves. Located in the historic Margarita Inn, the space has hosted many a corporate function, including a bash thrown by the North Shore's own Crate & Barrel.

Aigre Doux -- CLOSED
Read Reviews230 W Kinzie St, Chicago, IL 60610 (map)
Why such an extravagant choice when the company is on the verge of financial ruin? Well, why not? Death row inmates get their final meal and so should you. Go all out like Nate Berkus and Michelle Obama (who are regulars) with Colorado lamb, lobster bucatini and creme fraiche cheesecake.
