Editorial Review for Allstate Arena – by Peter Behle

Overview
Sure, it's rather unremarkable looking, but you're coming here to watch a game or a concert, not the building. Classic rock acts such as the Who, Pink Floyd and Bruce Springsteen have appeared here. Allstate Arena continues to host rock, country and Latin performers such as Ozzy Osbourne, Keith Urban, Foo Fighters, Hannah Montana and more. DePaul's Blue Demons play home basketball games here. Allstate is home to Arena footballers Chicago Rush, the Chicago Wolves minor-league hockey team and WWE wrestling, plus the circus and ice shows.

The Experience
Allstate has decent sightlines from two levels (three if the main floor is used), separated by a single row of luxury boxes. There are no obstructed-view seats and the balcony is good and close. Cups of Bud, nachos and typical arena fare are for sale in the concourse.

Insider Tips

Parking

Parking fees range from $11 to $15 and the lot is open two hours prior to the event. Getting in and parking is actually pretty easy. Getting out of the parking lot can be chaotic if you linger after the event ends.

In a Word "MISERABLE" the seats are built to accomidate the average 6yr old or anyone who is less than 5' 4' & 110 lbs (By far NOT the fast majority of Adults). The parking cost is unbelievalbe, scalpers are literally knocking on your car window the moment you drive in. The sound is terrible, upper level is sweltering hot. Will NOT be going back!!

Cons: Seat Size, parking cost, scalpers

2 Star Rating: Below Average

The reason why they get all the music tours at this boxy, uncomfortable monument to bad acoustics is because there's a tax on the venues further in that the acts don't want to pay. The walkways behind the seating are so poorly designed that many traffic jams result, but you'll never notice that at a minor league hockey game. They are pretty tight about the parking lot, so even if you're not doing anything it makes you feel uncomfortable. Only go to the show here if there's no alternative.

Pros: Only game in town, Easy parking

Cons: acoustics, layout, comfort

There's little to get attached to about this relatively new, characterless, multi-purpose arena.  See the full editorial review.
