In Short – Linen-covered tables sit close together, and landscapes of Nepal and neighboring India adorn the walls. Here, you can get your curry fix, or sample milder dishes like tandoori (clay oven-cooked) chicken. Favorites include momo chicken (tiny, steamed, meat-filled dumplings), which works well as an appetizer, plus warm naan (flat bread) and tasty, khasi ko maasu (goat cooked in spices). For dessert, try the kheer, a traditional rice pudding-esque treat accentuated with almonds and raisins.

Not even the Indian food in London compares to Mt. Everest. It is the best Indian food I've ever had.
- Pros: food
The ultimate apex of quality dining
by iheartwilmette at Citysearch
The atmosphere is casual, and one feels very much at ease here. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and yet unpretentious. The food is amazing. I've been here several times. Not having had much previous experience with Indian cuisine in the past, I have come to love it, and all because of Mount Everest. When having lunch here, most people I know don't even look at a menu, but go straight to the buffet. It is an amazing value and of course absolutely delicious!
- Pros: the food of course, waitstaff helpful, nice atmosphere
