Definite Improvement!. Let me just start by saying that I never leave these reviews but felt it was necessary this time. I live in the neighborhood and have been to this place 10+ times, usually in the summer with a couple buddies to sit in the beer garden, I would go more often if the drinks weren't so expensive, which is why it only got 4 stars. But I went in a few Fridays ago with some buddies, when we walked in we were greeted by the smokin' hot blonde behind the bar, so we naturally sat at the bar instead of the beer garden, which was our original reason for going. We ordered a couple drinks and the bartender (Kelly? can't remember, but definitely an Irish name) immediately struck up a conversation, needless to say she had us rolling laughing the entire time, and had a drink waiting every time we needed one. Ordered food which was great, would recommend the steak appetizer. We left when her shift was over, or should I say stumbled out? The atmosphere is great too, you really feel like you just stepped into Ireland! But all in all the best service I have ever received can't remember the last time I was at a bar with such a personable bartender and amazing food. We plan on making this place a regular stop. Good Job Chief O’Neill’s!

A great way to ruin St Pat's Day!. There was a five dollar cover for music in another room and it was 5pm on a Monday (St Patty's day). They poured guiness in plastic cups like we were at a college keg party and charged 6 dollars each. The food was alright, the fish and chips were soggy. We were told cash only even though we were sitting at a bar with about ten stools, they normally take credit cards and we came to eat and have a few drinks. The bartender decided to apologize about twenty minutes to late in an attempt to win us over after we had already gone to an ATM, told us we could pay for the rest with a credit card if we wanted to. It didn't work, we won't go back. Overall, it was really overpriced and the service was bad. They obviously arent' looking for new customers because they went out of their way to make the experience one not to be repeated. Of all the irish pubs in Chicago, don't choose this one.

terrible customer service............ i went to a party at this bar. it was in the upstairs attic. i had heard nothing but great things about this place, prior to going. The room was beautifully decorated, the food tasted absolutly delicious, (for bar food!), and everything seemed to be running smoothly, up until i was a witness to what was possibly the WORST "customer service" i had ever seen in my life! the staff was involved in the whole party setting, and not because they were working or invited, but b/c they found it necessary to question every customer that walked up to the bar, even though the ENTIRE room had already paid a ridiculous amount of money, for an open bar special. not only were the employees terrible, starting from their appearance down to their demeanor; but the "management staff" was the most unprofessional i have ever seen in my life! i give this place one star-for the beautiful decorations, and decent bar food. but i would NEVER recommend this place to anyone! do not attend or throw your party here, i promise you will be sorry!

more than a bit o' the irish. Can't top this place for authentic Irish music, atmosphere, and food. The service is always great. This is what an Irish pub should be.

horrible service. Heard good things about the place and tried it on a Sat. night. Not busy at all, but host seemed confused and wandered away before seating us. Finally got a table in the very odd beer garden (a lawn with tables a good 20 ft apart), looked at menus, and waited 15 min for waiter to take our beer order. Waited another 15 min for beer to arrive. Before we could say anything, waiter said he'd be right back and went to take another table's order. He then went inside before taking ours, and 10 min later returned and thanked us for "being patient." Against our better judgment, we ordered appetizer and entrees. 20 min later we'd finished our beers and still no sign of food. We left money for the beers on the table and walked out. STAY AWAY!
