In Short – The beach stretches from Montrose to Wilson avenues off Lake Shore Drive. On sand, there's beach volleyball; on land, there are soccer fields, tennis courts and baseball diamonds. You're likely to see groups of Eastern European men engaged in animated discussion, Middle Eastern women in veils chasing after children and Latino families grilling delectable-smelling foods. And there's plenty of room left for babes in bikinis and studs in Speedos from all parts of the globe.

This Beach Is Great For People That Live In The Area I Live Just Near By I Take 2 Buses And Im There Its Fun. Just Relax And Have Some Fun.

Last summer our friends with my family were at Montrose a minimum of 25 times and except for the life guards being very annoying we had a great time. Growing up here we use to go to 12th ST. I lived in California for the last 19yrs. and last year moved back home. We are waiting for the 1st day of good weather to go back to the beach.
- Pros: plenty of places to relax, bar-b-que,play sports,bike, & walk.
- Cons: long walk to water, bathroom not to clean

this beach is ok to go to empty handed. I had my stuff stolen from me in a couple of sec. i just turned went to toss something in the garbage, and someone stole bookbag with my ipod, cell phone, keys, money, kids clothing, my clothing and my shoes! i dont understand why people do this... the staff was not helpful at all! they would not even give me 2 bucks to catch the bus. i was left with nothing but a bathing suit and my kids as well. the staff's attitude was too bad so sad... it happends.... f*** that beach! go to the one off loyola.
