The Experience
Bikini-clad beauties, businessmen with their trousers rolled up, tourists, bicyclists, musclemen, in-line skaters and families--they're all here. With the Drake Hotel, Palmolive Building and John Hancock Center stacked up behind it, Oak Street is the most likely Chicago beach to grace a postcard or be seen in a feature film.
The Appeal
The beach is wide, with long stretches of concrete serving as breakwaters on the north and south ends and Lake Shore Drive to the west. The sand nearest the bustling lakefront path is occupied by volleyball courts and sunbathers. The concrete to the north is a hot spot for in-line skaters. The beach is particularly pleasant in the evening, when the sand is cool and the contrast between the dark expanse of lake and brightly lit skyscrapers is alluring and romantic.

WOW.. I was on lunch and walked over to Oak Street Beach and found Coups De Main Massage. The therapist there was incredible in 15 minutes I felt recharged and distressed the rest of my day flew by. Check it out. The true end of the Magnificent mile is Oak Street Beach

The absolutely best part of Oak Street Beach is the massage tent operated by Coups de Main Massage Therapy. The therapist Bruce is seriously talented. There's nothing like a massage on the beach, with the lake breeze blowing gently and the sun shining. Heavenly!

One of Chicago's 2 "it" beaches(North Ave.being the other),Oak Street Beach has something for everyone from swimming, rollerblading, bicycling, and people watching. The beach regulars make you feel very welcome here. It's by far one of the most scenic beaches in the world. And,it's only a few steps from The Magnificent Mile.
