A real bar for real people..
The Scene
The Bucktown Pub doesn't accept credit cards and, according to the owner, "Isn't a lounge or a club--it's a bar." There's a pronounced '60s and '70s feel to it, as evidenced by selections such as "Songs of Protest" and "Those Rockin' '70s" in the CD jukebox. But what's of real interest are the walls, as every inch of space (including in the men's room) is covered with music memorabilia, including posters of Janis, the Pixies, Zappa, Johnny Cash and countless others.
The Draw
Blue-collars from the neighborhood (yes, species other than hipsters still live in Bucktown) generally stick to beer. There are about a dozen on tap and 15 bottled, with nothing more than $3.50. A little short on cash? Try the 23-ounce Bucktown Lager for $2.50.
