Really nice selection of wines. Flights let you try a few different types at a time. Plus there's a cheese menu that's 50 cheeses deep.

This is a literal wine and cheese bar. Vino bars are a dime a dozen but Bin 36 actually has an entire bar of cheese where you pick your fave stinkies, hards, or softs.

Oenophiles, meet your River North Disneyland! Great for a post-work glass of vino or a power lunch, but also a nicely stocked retail shop.

Great Bar food and regular menu. The bar menu is great, some of the best burgers in Chicago The cheese plates are also very nice. The regular menu is more pricey but the food is very good. The best part is the wine flights which are nicely priced and tend to include wonderful choices. Don't forget to visit the shop on your way out, lots of wonderful finds.

AWFUL, THE WORST!!!!!. DO NOT GO HERE. WHAT KIND OF ESTABLISHMENT WOULD EXPLOIT INNOCENT GEESE TO GAIN A BIT OF NEWS COVERAGE. HOW DISGUSTING CAN A PLACE BE THAT INSTEAD OF EMBRACING A LAW THAT HELPS TO ELIMINATE ANIMAL CRUELTY THEY DECIDE TO TRY TO GET PUBLICITY OUT OF IT. MAYBE WE SHOULD FORCE FEED THE OWNERS OF THIS GROSS PLACE AND COOK THEM UP AND SERVE THEM TO STUPID PEOPLE ....FREE OF CHARGE! I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE AGAIN WHETHER FOR FOOD OR A GLASS OF WINE. I'D RATHER EAT DIRT - and by the way IT ISN'T VERY GOOD TO BEGIN WITH WHICH IS WHY THEY ARE TRYING TO GET A BIT OF PRESS. GIVE ME A BREAK AND PLEASE HAVE A HEART AND GIVE THE GEESE A BREAK TOO.

Could be a favorite for anyone. This is a great place! Walk in and meet the host who will bring you through the wine store (which you should lookover) and seat you in the main dining room. The food is fantasic and the atmosphere is incredible. Great date spot!!! It worked well for me.

Go with the flights if you are unsure of the wines to try. You can taste a bit of everything.

Very good dinner. Went here to enjoy the wine and we were not disappointed. My wife ordered the monkfish and a flight of wine while I had the fixed price menu (shashimi, braised rabbit and a fish of some type) and the accompanying wine pairing. The wine was truly excellent. One drawback was the service, it was acceptable but not what you would expect at such an expensive restaurant. We would definitely visit again to enjoy the wine selections. My wine pairings were great and the overall wine list is extensive. Lots of wine flights to meet your taste.

Like Eating In The Middle of a Housewares Store. albeit, a nice store a'la Crate and Barrell. A pretty amaturish staff and an uninspired kitchen. Waitress put me and my guest in the mind of a Waffle House staff person.

Rude Front Desk Staff. Great atmosphere and concept, but after waiting for our reservations, front desk staff could not have been ruder, nor did they care. We walked out after waiting half an hour and have vowed never to go back. Waiting wouldn't normally be a big problem for a popular place, but the rudeness of the person at reservations was unacceptable. A note to the manager the next day went unanswered.

Good Concept, Could Use Better Execution. Went here for the wine and cheese bar. It's a great concept - sample various flights of cheeses and wines. The wine flights are a decent value. Four glasses for about $14. And, you may find something new and promising. The cheese flights though aren't such a good value. The four pieces are very small, especially for the price.

Also, we would have liked for the whole presentation to be more interactive with the cheese/wine - tender. While both the cheese and wine came with notes, that seemed to be written for a high-school creating writing exercise, we would have liked for the tender to provide some context and history of the products. This would have helped make it a more educational, enjoyable and memorable experience.

Wine experts and newbies alike pop their corks at this relaxed wine-centric restaurant and market.. The Scene
This lofty, casual space takes the fear out of wining and dining with a user-friendly menu and patient, whip-smart servers. Rowdy professionals crowd up front at the oval bar and "Tavern" area, while the low-ceilinged, intimate "Cellar" beckons formal diners.

The Food
The contemporary American fare is bold and hearty: Wild mushroom risotto is a near-entree sized bounty of garlic, Asiago cheese and chanterelle and black trumpet mushrooms. Entrees wow as well: zinfandel-spiced pork chop is delicate in a grain-mustard chantilly, while grilled lamb T-bone is smoky and biting with almond couscous and Moroccan yogurt sauce. Pineapple tarte Tatin is an architectural wonder; stacked layers of pineapple, pastry, coconut mousse, mango sauce and basil foam. The menu suggests at least one wine for each dish, which makes food pairings a snap.

good food, good wine, good times. I was a first-time visitor from California, so I really can't compare this restaurant with others in the area. But if I'm ever in Chicago again, I am definitely going back to BIN 36! The food was good, the wine list was savvy, and the prices were reasonable (for both the food and wine).

The whole concept of the "flights" (this is where you get to try 4 wines of the same or similar varietals for the price of one glass) is a great way to "get to know" your wine. Try the roasted duck with the pinot noir flight! You can't go wrong with that one.

Go try some new wine. Not my favorite atmosphere (I like a wine bar to be a bit more cozy), but they have an interesting wine selection. I enjoy ordering several 2.5 ounce glasses. They're cheap (2.50-3.50), so you can try several different kinds for the average price of 1 glass. If you like white wine, I highly recommend their Bin 36 Chardonnay.

The staff was friendly and helpful. They don't seem to be too uptight during the afternoon. Not sure about the evening scene.

Didn't try the food.
