“great restaurant, I'd DEFINATELY go there again.”
“Even though this doesn't speak to the quality of the food or service staff, this reflects on the terrible character of the owners and manager of this restaurant.”
“The food, service, and ambiance would be barely acceptable if the price per person was one $.”
“Service was a little slow.”
Nice place. The dinner we had was great! The flavors exploded in your mouth! I didn't expect this from Tizi, I have been here in the past (4 years ago)and was skeptical to come back--boy am I glad I did! The service was ok but the food and atmosphere will bring me back!!!
Fun Place. Went in for dinner last week and we had a blast! The room was beautiful, and the food was amazing. Service was fine, very attentive and friendly. My friends and I all had different dishes from apps to entrees and we were not disappointed! The pear salad, fantastic!!! We can't wait to go back!!
The Worst Restaurant and the Worst Service !!!!!. Before i start i would like to tell everyone that i am a chef and i know a whole lot about food, menus, ethnic food, etc... I dined with my friends last week at this restaurant and i have to say that it is one of the WORST by far. The food has nothing to do with Morocco AT ALL (I have been to Morocco 3 times and i know what i am talking about). It is French influenced; petite, very tiny plates and they charge a lot for it. I couldn?t believe my eyes when i got my dish that cost me $25. It was so small i left the restaurant so hungry and not satisfied. The waitress was soooo fake and could care less about what we ordered. The taste of every thing we ordered was so bland, no taste what so ever. The executive chef and the sous chef are both American and have nothing to do with Moroccan or Middle Eastern food. They think by providing good presentation and tiny plates they could earn respect but hell no. To top it off, i was charged $10 extra for no reason what so ever!!! I had to call and argue with the stupid owner to cancel this charge. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!! Please do your self a big favor and DO NOT GO THERE. Again this is one of the worst food and service i have tried in many years. All my friends chefs that were with me agree 100% to what i am telling every one here.
My Best Dining Experience So Far. If you go to restaurants for a unique dining experience, this is a place to go. The food is absoluely top notch and the menu selections are ambitious. The kitchen is able to accomodate for vegetarians and customers with specific food allergies. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The setting is very exotis which adds to the uniqueness of the outfit.
Great customer service, horrible food!. I went on my 30th birthday with a group of about 25 people. Had a great time!! We had the cresent room which is very beautiful!! The ambiance was just right. The lighting was dimmed and romantic, seating was a little uncomfortable because they sit very low. And although the customer service was exceptional, the food was terrible! It's served family-style which is great but I was not impressed with the taste. The cresent room has its own menu so you can not choose from the other foods Tizi has to offer. Actually, I was a little embarrassed after tasting my dinner, I looked around to my guests and just about everyone had an unpleased look on their faces as they ate. The mussels and the Marlin fish was okay but the rest of it was terrible. Other than that, Tizi Melloul is a wonderful place for the ambiance. Great service, bad food! Loved the Huka pipes!!!
Exceptional!. The food is unique, the service is fantastic, and the ambiance is something you'll likely never forget. I've been there several times and I can say without reservation that it is one of the best places in the city for dinner- either large group or just a couple.
AMAZING!!!. Wow, went here for a special occasion with a party of 10. We sat in the Cresent room after enjoying Hookah pipes . . in the lush front room. Sat down for the 5 course meal. The food was so good that in a mixed party of 4 conversations. All subjects turned to how AWESOME the mussels were, then the next course, then the next. The service was great, attentive and quick. The ambience is perfect and the room was a constant in the conversation. 'It is like being in I dream of Genies bottle,' my friend said. This is the perfect place for small or large group, and I will be going back VERY SOON for the amazing food!!!!
amazing!. I highly recommend having dinner in the romantic and cozy Crescent Room. The mussels were some of the best I've ever tasted, and I loved the variety of the 5-course tasting menu. Every entree was paired with a flavorful side, each matched perfectly. The chocolate fondue dessert was both fun and a romantic way to end a dinner date. Our server was friendly and the decor was lavish, funky & cool. Loved it!!
Sensational!!. With a personalized greeting from the owner, Tizi gets the highest recommendation for its cool atmosphere, wonderful meals and THE BEST MUSSELS in Chicago! If you're in the Windy City and want something different, this is the place to go.....
User review by amandalisinski. Romantic resturant with great service. The food was excellent. I would go back myself and I would recommend this resturant to someone who wanted to try something exotic. We celebrated Valentines Day here........and it made the day extra special.
