Amazing. Once upon a time before evil corporations ruined everything there were lots of tiny little theatre that showed interesting movies. In 2009 - there's not a lot of places left as incredible as these guys. Its easilly the coolest theater anyway near Hyde Park and I'm telling you that you need to go here.…

The Theater
Doc Films is hosted by the Max Palevsky Cinema at Ida Noyes Hall on the University of Chicago campus. Students run the entire organization, doing everything from booking to
projecting. They schedule a film theme every academic quarter, dedicating one night a week to that theme. Starting in 2000, the theater will also be part of the Chicago International Film Festival.
What Does It Show?
Doc Films screens movies almost every night of the year (about 300 films), and its tastes jump all over the place. There's the occasional standard college late-night screening like "A Clockwork Orange," but there are also things like the recent series of silent German expressionist films. On weekend nights you can catch recent films in that limbo time between the end of their theatrical run and their debut on video.…
