“was pleasantly surprised by the great selection at this store: beautiful fresh-flower bouquets practically overflow out the front door, and the cheese selection is as good as any you'd find at a gourmet shop.”
“Not nearly as big as the Whole Foods in Atlanta (or the Harry's Farmer's Markets they bought out), but it's a great, well-stocked store for people who prefer fresh and organic foods and live downtown.”
“And what a treat to find my favorite scented hand soaps are sold herethese round little bars are long-lasting and make great gifts or stocking stuffers.”View Less
Great employees and fresh produce.
I called ahead to check and see if they had fresno and habanero chile peppers. Customer service was prompt in transferring me to produce, where a really nice guy said he would check to make sure they
had good ones for me.
Luckily, they had just what I needed, and when I was picking out peppers, the guy in produce unpacking pineapples remembered me and asked if I was the girl who called. He was very nice, pointing out that habanero peppers were very spicy, which I knew, but it was a thoughtful warning.
This store is really clean and the employees are helpful and friendly. I only wish they had more samples around the store, but it was a weekday afternoon, so perhaps on weekends they have more? The Naperville and Evanston stores seem to have more samples.…
Great food,Rude staff. I frequent this store quite a bit, Whole Foods is a great market. I really enjoy the selection of food choices they have. They have a great salad bar and deli station. This is the reason I keep coming back not because of the great customer service they provide at the store. I have found a lot of the staff there to be quite rude and unfriendly when asked a question or even at the check out line. I wouldn't be writing this is it happened once or twice but since I frequent the store it has come to my attention that it's happening a bit too much. I have starting going to the South Loop Whole Foods and they are great over there! The staff is very attentive and I don't leave the store feeling like I did something wrong.…
One of the best Whole Foods.... Having been to more than a few, this location offers items such as Carol's Cookies (in chocolate chip and sugar varieties) that are hard to find at other locations. They also have a decent birthday cake and very good petit fours as well as an extensive hot and prepared foods section. Of course, this Whole Foods has a vast fresh produce section, a lot of healthy food choices, and is somewhat of a meat (or should I say meet?) market.…
This organic/all-natural supermarket chain features hormone-free meats and an inviting salad bar..
The Scene
People complain about the high prices here, but, for one thing, they're not much higher than any other downtown market, and the sparkling-clean store and great selection more
than compensate. Most of the store's products are organic and all-natural, which means you may not be able to find a familiar brand. Items for sale include hormone-free meats and non-animal-tested household and personal care products. There's a well-stocked wine and beer section and a bakery that should make Jewel ashamed.
The Food
Besides the excellent deli (great sandwiches and baked chicken), there's an impressive salad bar which has three kinds of lettuce, half a dozen dressings, more than two dozen toppings (from mushrooms to watermelon), four soups (such as beef barley and chicken gumbo), and about 10 non-salad items such as tabbouleh and a decent but bland pasta salad. All that and the tables by the front windows make Whole Foods a good, noncrowded lunchtime destination.…
Great location, great store!. Not nearly as big as the Whole Foods in Atlanta (or the Harry's Farmer's Markets they bought out), but it's a great, well-stocked store for people who prefer fresh and organic foods and live downtown. I would think if I lived there, I'd be at Dominick's for a lot of things, but Fox & Obel and Whole Foods would be the first stop. Very knowledgeable staff, which can be useful if you find a weird product that you might want to try.…
