The Scene
Modern and spacious, this converted industrial complex is perfectly outfitted for electronic-dance enthusiasts, but attracts a far broader spectrum of casually clubbing young decadents. Little wonder, as each of the four main rooms look sharp and have their own bars. Most dancing takes place on the 1,500-square-foot dance floor under swirling red lights in the Oval, while R&B thumps the lounge-y mezzanine upstairs. The minimal VIP Blue Room has Eames-type tables for chilling out; and social butterflies circle the glowing Light Bar, tucked all the way in back.

The Draw
As for drinks, heavy-hitters down Red Bull and vodka to keep up with the beats late into the night. Local promoters such as Pure bring electronic-music DJs from around the world, and the likes of Tommy Z throw parties for sexy people. It's a good place for dancing for those who like straight-ahead high-energy stuff.

We were promised free entrance til midnight which didn't happen! We even had text messages from 4FANTASTICOS that we tried to show but OSCAR (the front door bouncer) refused to let us in for free, and threatened to charge us $20 each if the text messages were forwarded...The damn text even said "FORWARD TO FRIENDS PLZ" at the bottom.!!!! 6 out of 9 of us paid anyway since our party bus left and we just wanted to have a good time. My boyfiend and I later spoke with Oscar (who was rude and gave us an atitude when I questioned the false advertistment)....he then got us free drinks and gave us his number for our troubles.... About 20 minutes later, my friend (who was feeling sick all day) threw up in a small trash can descretely, as I walked to the restroom with her we were bum rushed by these rent a cops and we were forcefullly kicked out without reasoning. The security did not answer any of my questions or get the manager as I requested since I had just spoken with him.... (might I mention that my boyfriend, who tried to ask one of the security guards what was going on, was practically carried out with his head down when he didn't even resist or give them trouble.... This was after our party bought 2 bottles!! Not only was this very humiliating but we were furious for the way this club and it's staff handled our situation! I will tell everyone I know never to step foot in this horrible club, especially when they plan to celebrate their birthday!

The very first time I came to Transit was for NYE 2004/05. That night was a really fun night with champagne and all. The next time I came was for the Valentine's party that same year. This night, however, didn't go so well for reasons I don't remember (or don't care to remember). So when it was time to choose a spot to celebrate my birthday, I was pretty hesitant to choose Transit. I guess what did it for me (on paper) was the music selection they played which would've suited my guests (if they did show up, but that's another story). Well, for the most part they were true to their package which is always a plus. They did give me n my guests free cover n a bottle of champagne and free drinks for an hour (even though it was domestic beers and well drinks). I wasn't in time to get a table, so the top of the speaker is where we had to park our stuff. But despite being absent from the place since the Valentine's party, little has changed. I guess that the only gripe I have about the place is the long line outside (especially in the cold, but they do a full patdown at the door), the snotty coat check girls who didn't give me a ticket for my coat and accused me I left it at the bar when all along they never gave me one, and how the rooms were separated. of course, the main room pumped out current dance music, behind the main room played hip hop in a already cramped area, and on the 2nd floor the DJ was playing bachata. I guess I do like the place, after all they did back up their word on the bday package. i just don't know why I can't give them a higher rating, there's always "something missing".
