Editorial Review for Hot Tix and Ticketmaster – by Citysearch Staff
The Bargain
Hot Tix, operated by the League of Chicago Theatres, sells half-price tickets to shows at over 125 LCT member theaters. Tickets are available on the day of performance. Weekend shows are often released Thursday at 5 p.m., at the Randolph Street location only.
Where and How
Shows on sale are posted by 10 a.m. at Hot Tix outlets. You can also find out what's available by calling (900) 225-2225 for $1 per minute. Hot Tix tickets are sold in person only. The Randolph Street, Chicago Visitors Center and Skokie outlets accept credit card payment for Hot Tix. At the four Tower Records locations, purchases are cash only. A service fee (usually $2 to $4) is added to the discounted ticket price. The number of tickets sold through Hot Tix is limited, so seats for popular shows move quickly. Ticketmaster also sells full-price/cash-only tickets here. All Hot Tix locations are closed Mondays.
