“Lobster Bisque was amazing, great decor!”
“Dinner was delicious, service was prompt and efficient.”
“The service is knowledgeable and friendly.”
Worst place i have ever eaten at..
We had a party of 10 on a saturday evening. Out of the 10 people that ordered 7 of the meals were cold and 1 did not get what he ordered. The waiter was great and so was the manager but i would not recommend it to anyone. The next day i emailed the company to let them know and i never heard from them. I guess they do not care.
Would never go back
Great Pre-theatre dining for groups. Before going to the Schubert/ LaSalle Bank Theatre, I went with a group of 7 and everyone was able to find a menu item they liked. The ages in the group were between 15-53, so I think that is saying something. Though no one had steak, I feel that I can safely say that the other menu items were more than satisfactory. I had the meatloaf which was by far the best tasting meatloaf I have ever had. Along with the meatloaf, I had the garlic mashed potatoes which was very good. All in all it was a very good restaurant.
My Favorite NY Steak. Great NY steak, cooked to perfection at medium rare. Garlic mashpotatoes unbelievable. Perfect before the theatre.
Excellant choice for pre theatre dining. Dinner was delicious, service was prompt and efficient. Atmosphere was rich, bathrooms were immaculate.. Flat valet fee was cheaper than using parking garage. Walk across street to theatre!
Best Steak in the CITY!! Great pre-theatre dining!!. Best steak in the city, try the new york strip steak with garlic mash potatoes. Lobster Bisque was amazing, great decor!
Classic American joint serves up steaks and seafood across from the Shubert Theatre..
In Short
A pre-theater crowd mixes with corporate diners in this buzzing, open room, where rich leather booths, dark wood accents and tile walls create a clubby setting; a closed-off bar keeps the dining room smoke-free. Highlights of the classic American menu include Maryland crabcakes with red pepper aioli and portobello mushroom with goat cheese. Entrees include grilled salmon sandwich on black rye and sesame-crusted tuna. Peanut butter pie with an Oreo crust is a must-try dessert.
the place.
This is now one of my favorite places to eat in Chicago. I think that the lighting and decor is perfect and understated. The service is knowledgeable and friendly.
I had the onion soup, the crab cakes, and the tuna. They were all good.
They make fantastic Martinis too!
Nice and Close. My boyfriend and I live in Wrigleyville and wanted a place near the El and the Schubert Theater. The Grillroom was perfect! It's directly across the street and easily accesible through public trans. It was not too pricey, and there was a decent selection of both drinks and dinners. My only criticism is that our waitress was not very attentive, but I guess that can happen anywhere!
Very enjoyable. We went to the theatre the other night and decided to eat somewhere convenient. We found a very wonderful reataurant in the Grillroom. All persons in our party raved about the dishes they ordered. They ranged from steak to chicken to even an oriental style dish. I would recomend this establishment to anyone. Oh, one more thing, the service and atmosphere were great.
