The Scene
The high-traffic, tree-lined streets get backed up as strolling tourists stop to gawk at window displays, especially during the holidays. Beautiful people whiz by on their way to one of the Avenue's tony stores. Cars are honking, cabbies are yelling, the traffic officers are yelling back, and your head is spinning. Keep up your energy with a bite to eat at the Billy Goat Tavern, a fine meal at high-end Spiaggia or a snack from the popular Garrett Popcorn Shop.
The Stores
Regardless of age or preference, there's something along this stretch for everyone. Kids beg to go to the Disney Store and American Girl Place; tourists make it a point to hit Niketown and the Apple Store; and browsers crowd the department stores like Neiman Marcus, Lord & Taylor, Bloomingdale's and the Nordstrom flagship store. Designer boutiques, like Gucci, Ermenegildo Zegna and Tiffany & Co., also abound.

This is a fun place to be with alot going on around you. It was interesting to see the different buildings, and the fast pace of a booming city. Shopping was great, lots to see. Food choices are everywhere, from Food Courts with average fare, to elegant indoor/outdoor dining. Very nicely spaced out, and something for everyone can be found on Michigan Avenue!
Pros: great stores for everyone...no matter what age!
Cons: parking can be a problem, so take that into consideration. We took the train.

There is no other shopping district like North Michigan Avenue in the world. There are shops for everyone's budget. There are plenty of dining options and lots of entertainment for the kids. If you cant find a store on Michigan Avenue that doesnt have what your looking for I dont think it exists.
