The Scene
This modest ski area just across the state line from Duluth is not as impressive as its Minnesota neighbors Giants Ridge and Spirit Mountain, but the price is right. The property borders the St. Louis River, and skiers get a scenic view of the waterway, its foothills and its dam.
The Slopes
Skiers can choose from eight runs--including expert trails--at this low-key ski area; snowboarders have their choice of three terrain parks. Even tubers have their own four-lane run. And everybody can have fun when the sun goes down on the lighted ski slopes, terrain parks and tubing runs. A double chair lift, rope tow and handle tow service the ski area.

Know Before You GoThe tubing area may be reserved for groups Tuesday to Thursday. It's open to the public from 5:30pm to 9pm Fridays and 11am to 6pm Saturdays and Sundays. Cost is $12 for two hours.
