Editorial Review for Dewes Mansion – by Meghan McEwen
The Space
This German-inspired mansion built in 1896 provides a perfect backdrop for a formal, classy or quaint wedding. Beautifully decorated, ornate rooms fill the first two floors, including a grand foyer, library, cigar bar and music room. Think painted ceilings, marble floors and columns, a fireplace in almost every room, a central flying staircase leading up to a stunning stained-glass window, and fabulous antiques. What you do with each room is up to you: music in the foyer, dinner in the tented courtyard, dancing in the third floor ballroom, cocktails on the second floor--the possibilities are endless.
Details, Details
The ballroom is more understated in comparison to the rest of the house. It holds 120 people seated, but several different options will accommodate larger parties. You'll need to secure a reservation at least a year in advance. Furniture is included in the rental fee, and you have to pick from a list of six approved caterers.
