Editorial Review for Piazza Bella – by J.P. Anderson
In Short
Staff is warm and welcoming, and regulars squeeze into tight tables at this neighborhood spot. The menu features pastas, risotto, antipasti and thin-crust pizzas. Calamari with spicy marinara is some of the best in Chicago. Simple pizza verde with spinach and ricotta has a zesty basil punch; tortelloni are firmly al dente, enlivened with prosciutto and peas in sweet tomato-cream sauce. Tiramisu makes a fine finish.

I have gone to this Roscoe Village establishment several times with my wife and we absolutely love this place. It's quaint, nicely decorated, the food is exceptional, and the service is always outstanding. Even on a busy Saturday night, we were seated promptly for our reservation, had water and bread brought to our table right away, and were waited on by an extremely friendly waitress who was able to answer all of our questions. The food was served hot and tasty as ever. We love this place and recommend it to everyone we know.
Pros: Outstanding service and food!
Cons: None

The pasta at Piazza Bella is fabulous. I had bow tie pasta with chicken, sun dried tomatoes, and mushrooms in a pink sauce. I loved it. My boyfriend had the gnocci, which was also great. If you're looking for a romantic atmosphere, this may not be the place. It's small and the tables are close together, making it rather noisy. There were also a few parties with young children. I plan on coming back though.
