Soma was the drug in Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World" that dulled people, distracting them from their concerns, helping the state control society. In Chicago, it's a night filled with trance spins, welcoming bartenders and a bit of the unexpected. A projector presents engaging visuals that work with the music (it's actually plugged into the sound for the most enticing effect). Intimate seating areas--couches swathed in velvet luxury--make conversation with friends a high priority.
