Friday nights offer an extraordinary atmosphere for trance music..
The Scene
Moving the booth to the center of the room, resident DJ Christopher Robin spins en-trance-ing grooves for Friday night's "Soma." The Concept? Soma was the drug in Aldous Huxley's
"Brave New World" that dulled people, distracting them from their concerns, helping the state control society. In Chicago, it's a night filled with trance spins, welcoming bartenders and a bit of the unexpected. A projector presents engaging visuals that work with the music (it's actually plugged into the sound for the most enticing effect). Intimate seating areas--couches swathed in velvet luxury--make conversation with friends a high priority.
The Draw
Drinks are well-poured and delightful. Deluxe martinis are a must-have. Order yours dirty from Hugo--if you like it strong and with a serious dose of olive juice, you'll be happy you did.…
People Watch. Martinis and Trace....Great Como on a Saturday Night. The DJ's are grreat and its nice to hear diffent styles of music all night.
