Editorial Review for Century 12 Evanston and CineArts 6 – by Chris Barsanti

The Venue
Taking up the second floor of the complex on Maple and Church, the Century has a split personality, both of them good. On the left side are 12 screens for new mainstream releases with an enormous concession stand selling everything from pizza to popcorn to shakes. On the right is the CineArts 6, ostensibly for showing art films, but that's usually only true for about half the screens. All theaters are stadium seating with cushy chairs and cupholders and crystal-clear THX sound. If you don't like the movie, it's not the theater's fault.

Wining and Dining
Besides quality flicks, the CineArts 6 also has the Rhythm Room Bistro. From 3pm-12am Mon-Fri and 11am-12am Sat-Sun, you can relax with a choice of many signature cocktails, 11 types of beer and a short menu of gourmet desserts, appetizers and sandwiches. Weekend nights there's live music from the piano underneath the soaring wall of framed classic film posters. Giant windows look out onto Maple Ave.
