Convenient and just fine. This theater is very convenient, has easy parking (although i can walk to it!) and a great selection of movies. It is somewhat a victim of over use - if you go to a later show the concession stand areas, restrooms, etc. seem a little messy and could be cleaned more often. I just get the feeling they can't keep up with the crowds.

I will say the service in the bar is terrible. I would not reccomend it!

First-run and art-house movies all under one roof.. In Short
Evanston's main movie complex aims for a split personality with mainstream flicks occupying 12 screens in the left wing and arthouse productions screened in the right wing. A sizeable concession stand with aisle-style checkouts addresses the time crunch before theaters go dark for previews, stocking goodies like Goobers and Twizzlers. In the CineArts theater, there's a mini concession stand, along with a full bar and bistro called the Rhythm Room, where dates lounge with martinis and appetizers before catching the latest Coen brothers project. All theaters are equipped with digital sound and stadium seats and moveable arm rests.

Too Good To Last. Apparently there has been a significant change in management or management philosophy. What used to be a great afternoon or evening at the movies has turned into just another mediocre experience of lazy and distracted staff (I actually heard "not my job"), poor concession selection (no Dots), and variable audio and visual quality. Either there is a lack or direct, experienced management, or bottom-line cost cutting measures have sacrificed service quality.

No Coffee! No Comforts. I have an office around the corner. Concessions is sadly lacking. The "TRUE BUTTER" popcorn "may" be true. Staff is lazy and unmotivated. Can't wander between art and regular theatres, very lazy attitude of ticket takers, it's just a pretty good theatre that ends up offering a very lousy experience. For matinee theatregoers, you will have pretty good privacy, as attendance is very weak. For evening suburban theatregoers, I believe you will be fine but unimpressed. Positive - it IS the edge of downtown Evanston, and with validated parking - garage parking, you can make an evening out of downtown Evanston, which has always felt safe and comfortable, if not friendly, to me, as a long time near-local.

mega movie mall. glitzy comes to mind...actually a pretty cool place. They thought of everything when they designed this place - forget about the movies - there's a serve yourself candy bar, jazz music, a real bar - liquor, and a Wolgang Pucks Cafe. If you actually make it into one of the theaters, you'll love the sound and the stadium seating.
