“Highly recommend reservations based on the location.”
“The spinach was out of this world and the Chocolate Macaroon cookies were indescribably delicious, they melted in my mouth and sent my tatste buds into orbit!”
“They have a new Cab blend wine by Hedges from Washington State that was awesome if you like a lighter”

“Nice variety on the menu, good comfort food.”
“Petterino's is really close to the Chicago Theater and is a great place to get dinner and some drinks before going to the Theater.”
“Although I tipped the Maitre De' upon being seated, reminding him of our special evening, he found the (2) single ladies in the next booth more interesting to flirt with, along with many of the other attendants and staff hanging around for the same opport”
“Mediocre food at high prices”

Nothing standout, but you could do worse for per- or post-theatre grub. Try the prix fixe or my fave- house made chicken meatballs w/ penne.
Simple, old-school Italian fare scores with an energetic pre- and post-Goodman Theater crowd..
The Scene
Set in the Goodman Theatre complex, Petterino's bustles with show-goers and Loop white-collar types hungry for something quick and not too fancy. Red velvet banquettes and hardwood floors make for a plush '40s supper club feel. The inside menu cover lists show times for all the major theaters in the area; quick, friendly servers make sure you get there on time.
The Food
The classic American menu features throwback fare (spaghetti, fried shrimp) that fits the room's nostalgic mood. Standout starters include fresh jumbo shrimp cocktail and zesty tomato bisque; main plates range from Italian standbys like ravioli al forno and chicken saltimbocca to kicky peppercorn steak with bacon and savory shrimp de jonghe baked in bread crumbs with a rich sherry butter sauce. Desserts include a couple of chocolate winners: moist "applause" cake and rich banana-and-cookie ice cream pie.
Good Food Bad Service. I just want to say the food and atmosphere were great but the service was awful. For the place to be half empty and have our waiter not be the least be attentive is ridiculous. I think you should see your server more than when he brings drinks and when he brings the check.
GROUP FUN. SOMETIMES HAVINE A PARTY OF 8-10 IS A PROBLEM BUT NOT AT PETTERINO'S. WE WERE EARLY FOR OUR RESERVATION AND ENJOYED COCKTAILS AT THE BAR (INCLUDING SOME VERY WELL PRESENTEDCLASSICS ). OUR TABLE WAS READY RIGHT ON TIME AND WE WERE WAITED ON BY EXTREMELY COMPETENT AND FRIENDLY WAIT STAFF. THE FOOD WAS WONDERFUL, PARTICULARY THE SHRIMP COCKTAIL, SALMON AND OUT OF THIS WORLD DESSERTS! EVEN THOUGH OUR PARTY WAS LARGE THE FOOD WAS SERVED HOT AND THE WHOLE PARTY WAS SERVED AT THE SAME TIME.
Meat Me at Petterino's!!. My favorite place for business lunch! The fish and chicken dishes are all excellent and they serve probably the finest green salad (included w/ meal) in the city. But the absolute best thing on the menu is the Wednesday Special - Veal Meat Loaf with Mashed Potatoes. Outstanding!!!
The Worst.
I can't believe that a Lettuce restaurant can't get it's act together.
From the inattentive staff to the mediocre food, this restaurant does not deserve to be listed among any city's best.
