Oh my god.
Never saw such a immature staff and incompetent manager in my entire life.
The food is fairly good, but the attitude by the staff and manager rivals a cheap reality show..... STAY AWAY....

Terrible food.
Went here a few days ago, the food was more or less disgusting. It was edible, but that was about it, and the prices were ridiculous. I could get a meal twice as good for half the price at about 10 different places not more than a few blocks from there. I hope they go out of business and a real restaurant moves in there soon...the place is always empty.

Ignore the shills on here and stay away from this dump!.
This place is, no joke, the worst place I have been in my year and a half living in Chicago. Anyone who has positive things to say about this place has clearly never actually been there. The food was terrible- my girlfriend got a $25 steak that was CHARCOAL after she ordered it "medium rare". I got a $20 sandwich that was tiny, not nearly enough to fill me up. I don't know if I was more angered by the fact that our food was so crappy, or that we paid such a ridiculous amount for it! We also ordered a pitcher of overpriced, watered-down Sangria. We were served by a woman (I got the impression she was the manager) who visited our table twice during the whole meal- and both times she was rude. It's no wonder that the place was empty. I will NEVER be back here again.

A Chicago Worst.
I am amazed at how awful the service was at this restruant. The staff was rude, the management was not at all concerned with their customers and the prices were unfair. Chicago has so much to offer, this one can definatly be missed.

Great place to throw a private party!.
My friends and I threw an engagement party at the Black Duck and had a fantastic time. Before booking a venue we called around to numerous Lincoln Park and Lakeview bars and ended up choosing the Black Duck because it offered a private room, our own bartender, and a fairly priced drink/appetizer package. There was no charge to rent the room and our $35/person package included appetizers, top shelf liquors, martinis, and shots for three hours. My experience with planning the event was great, the manager was extremely helpful and catered to every request that we had (music, decorations, setting up AV equipment, etc...). I have been to a lot of bar parties with "all you can drink" packages and often find it difficult to get to the bartender to order a drink. This was not the case at the Black Duck ... the bartender was great and kept up with our drink requests all night. It ended up being a really great time and I would highly recommend the basement room of the Black Duck for your next private party.

Steps from the Steppenwolf, young professionals on the prowl nosh on bar food and frothy brews..
In Short
A post-collegiate crowd haunts this dim, classy-casual Lincoln Park bar and dining hangout. Hardwood accents, a copper-topped bar and candlelit tables are a departure from the standard sports bar scene, but four television monitors tuned into sporting events let customers know where the Duck's priorities are. Starters like sesame tuna, buffalo-style calamari, and roasted red pepper-eggplant bruschetta are good for a quick snack; dig deeper into the menu, and you'll find blue cheese-crusted filet mignon, chicken Vesuvio and halibut lyonnaise.

Eat outside at your own risk!.
My friend and I ate outside and got caught in a windstorm. The overhead umbrella ended up flying and hitting her in the head! The MANAGER (yes, manager) laughed, did not apologize, and then asked that we pay the bill. Terrible customer service! Stay away!
