Editorial Review for Nick's Fishmarket – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
Casual diners hobnob in the sunny, relaxed bar and grill, while dealmakers head downstairs to the masculine formal dining room, which is festooned with swirly patterned carpet and oversized booths. Tuxedoed waiters hover attentively; a low ceiling gives the big space an intimate feel. The seafood menu highlights classic dishes like peppery Creole crab cake with citrus beurre blanc and meaty, flavorful Chilean sea bass with sweet soy sake sauce.

these comments apply to the bar upstairs. i forwarded the below statement to the management: *** "I just want to report that my friends and I experienced the worst service at your restaurant today. We waited 40 minutes for nachos, after which the waitress still came empty-handed (apparently forgetting our order). When we called the manager, stocky guy with dirty blond hair, (after 50 minutes of waiting...for NACHOS) over to ask what the holdup was, we received absolutely no apologies, no explanation. Instead he handed us a check that included charges for food that never came! Call it what you want, but what we experienced was the absolute opposite of customer service and even subpar restaurant/bar experience. I really hope that something is done to shape up your manager and your waitress. " *** To add to the above comments, I just want to say that the experience involved even more frustrations (phantom charges on the bill, mixed up drinks, blatant negligence as our waitress was happy to serve people in business suits at the next table over) I never had an experience so bad that I absolutely refused to tip. I'm always the one prodding people to tip--even if the service were below average. But not today.
Pros: the service always tended to be slow...and the food is alright...however SEE CONS!
Cons: shoddy service and unapologetic manager who didn't seem to know how to bill properly

Nick's Fishmarket is a great restaurant. The service was outstanding. Water was always refilled, waiters were very very friendly. I have to agree that the food was great but it is definitely too expensive for the quality. I think the excellent service made up for it though. I was very satisfied and will definitely come back if I have more money.
Pros: excellent service, romantic setting
Cons: can be very expensive
