In Short – This two-story Wrigleyville sibling of the Lincoln Park institution successfully replicates the original's yuppie-flavored fun for a slightly less collegiate crowd. Thirteen flat-screens dot the dark-wood main room, packed with handsome 20- and 30-somethings; upstairs, pop and hip-hop keep the dance floor teeming. More than a dozen domestic and import drafts dominate the full bar's orders, and a wide selection of appetizers, salads, sandwiches and eclectic pastas includes some values; the burger is solid.
This is truely the place for Friday nights
by MisterDist
I don't know why but I've been coming here for years. This bar has definitely come a long way from what it used to be. I like the dj way better on Fridays than Saturdays and reccomend this spot for the Friday night get away. The dj plays the best and latest music and the dance floor is always packed!!
I've been there on a Saturday and it's not the same. I feel like I hear the same music over and over and the djs play some weird music and it can get pretty packed.
- Pros: Good music variety
- Cons: In Wrigleyville
Friday night hot spot
by chi_guy
Very good time, for whatever you are looking for. Large enough, room for sitting and drinking and talking, mingleing and lounging, or dancing and grindin'. This is where you want to go to have a laid back good time, or a hot night of dancin'. Music upstairs was suspect, but anything works for me. Don't go if you're a minor, it won't happen.
- Pros: crowd, dependability, size
- Cons: music upstairs, sad, old guys
Best high-class chill Wrigleyville bar
by jennykusa
An excellent combination of well-dressed professionals and sports fans, Barleycorn's is something for everyone. There's a great atmosphere for talking downstairs and dancing upstairs, and strong drinks in both places. A great place to meet friends and chill!
- Pros: diverse patrons, great atmosphere, good drinks
- Cons: noisy
