Editorial Review for Mitsuwa Market – by Citysearch Editors
The Scene
Like a mini-mall, Mitsuwa is actually a variety of shops in one, including a grocery store, liquor and wine store, travel agency, cosmetics counter and housewares shop. The airy food court offers a place to sample baked goods, sushi, noodles and ice cream. Most customers are Japanese families with Americanized children who answer their parents in English.
The Goods
Table settings, cookware, spices, snacks, frozen foods and beer, plus music, decoration, toys, novelty items, videos and jewelry are all for sale at this store. For Japanese customers it's everyday shopping. For others, it's an eye-opening, fascinating mix. Explore the grocery section for fresh produce and a variety of meats and fish. Other grocery items include bags of dried anchovies; canned squid; shrimp-flavored chips; several varieties of rice and noodles; roasted, toasted or seasoned seaweed; pickled items; or ready-to-go noodle bowls.

Had the best tuna rolls at Matsuwa! I find myself having cravings for their sushi! But I don't live in the area! It's a must to and walk around! So many different foods, and really fun just to look around and see what they have! A great Saturday afternoon outting!
Pros: Good Sushi!
Cons: Most eveything is in Japanese

This place is great! The produce is super fresh & half the time I have no idea what it is, but it's fun to try all the different fruits and vegetables you won't see everyday elsewhere. The selection of seafood is really incredible because they have many selections that you wouldn't normally see. Though, the Sushi & Sashimi grade fish is rather over priced for how small the piece is which is disappointing because we have been wanting to try & make our own rolls for some time. There are so many different types of noodles down one asle, another might have ton's of different spices and oils. The snack asles are bursting with candies and other goodies. The food court is a bit daunting because it's mainly in Japanese (& a Korean restaurant) with minimal descriptions in English. The prices are in both languages, and every place does have ready made plates out so you can just pick what looks like something you might want to try. Everyone seems to be friendly and willing to answer questions, though a few might not have the best English skills. All in all its really worth the trip because it is a fun place to visit while shopping and then grabbing a bite to eat.
Pros: great selection, quality, service
Cons: might be some language barriors from speaking to packaging
