Editorial Review for Johnny Sprocket's – by Elisa Kronish

The Scene
The relatively small square footage is used efficiently, with bikes owning one half and gear and clothing filling the other. Besides the tons of bikes out on the floor, there are more hidden away in storage upstairs and downstairs, so ask if you don't see the color, size or model you want.

The Goods
The diverse bike selection runs from beginner mountain bikes by Giant to an aerodynamic titanium road bike by Litespeed (about $5,500). Other brands include Gary Fisher, G-T, LeMond and Gunnar. Clothes selection is on the weak side, but peruse walls, floor and kiosks for biking extras such as insulated water bottles, energy bars, sunglasses, colorful socks and handlebar extensions. In a space above the cashier's desk, mechanics are busy at work. Salespeople are young and friendly and understand that some customers are hard-core fanatics while others simply ride for fun.

These guys have the best service - you break your chain, they fix it in 5 minutes $20. Broken pedal, they fix it in less than 5 minutes. These guys are quick and guarantee their work. Theis selection of new bikes is vast, you will be satisfied... and best of all, they will let you test-ride every damn bike in the place if you want before you make a decision to buy (all price ranges from $199-$5k).

Pros: They know what they are talking about

Cons: Space could be twice as big

Knowledgeable staff assessed needs and budget and offered good choices and ample riding time. No comission salespeople are very professional.
