The Scene
You can hear--or rather, not hear--the difference as soon as you step inside: Cell phones are turned off, and tranquil music and fragrant aromas surround you as you remove your shoes. The most stressful moment is deciding between juice, tea or water before heading to a changing room for a kimono and slippers.
The Services
Massage is taken seriously here. Choose from more than 10 variations, the most common being Swedish-Esalen massage, designed to relieve stress and soothe points of tension. Before the massage, your therapist asks about any specific problems, likes and dislikes. Afterward, you may be shown stretches or given a suggested regimen for ongoing stress reduction. Finish with a relaxing rain shower and sweet-smelling body oils and lotions. For a truly rejuvenating experience, try an aromatherapy wrap or salt-glow treatment.
The Details
Waterfall shower. Massage, body treatments, wet treatments, Reiki.

I scheduled a 90 minute massage. The staff was friendly, the inside looked clean. I could everything in the lobby, which made it hard to fully relax. I asked for a deep tissue massage and kept waiting for the deep part! I thought maybe she was going to loosen me up and then dig in. The massage I got was so weak that the next day I didn't feel any different. I also asked her to focus on some body parts, which never happened. On top of that, the massage was only 82 minutes long! I have been getting massages for years and have never had one shorter than the time it was scheduled for. I do realize that the bad massage was the bad therapist, but the short massage is unacceptable. The entire experience was a big disappointment.
Pros: Nice atmosphere
Cons: Short massage; rooms are loud

I'll admit, the massage therapist I had was fabulous and the facilities were clean. However, the spa lacks sophisticated details of say a Bliss or Burke Williams (for those familar with the West-Coast spa) to warrant a return trip. I went in June of 2008. There are no lockers where you could store your things. You have to lug everything around. You can not add gratuity onto your credit card, annoying to say the least, especially when you find out this policy as you're about to pay. The receptionists are not that accomodating. And, the death nail to this "spa": the parking situation is ABYSMAL! The attendants take their sweet time collecting and delivering your car on Maple, which is a one-way street; one of the attendants ran off with my key, and I had to wait 10 minutes before he realized his mistake. The worst part: I called the spa to beg for help in getting ahold of the valet service since not one of the valet attendants was anywhere to be found, and I was told that Urban Oasis has no affiliation with the valet -- pretty ballsy for a spa that engages the valet for their services.
Pros: clean facility; great massage therapist
Cons: DREADFUL parking situation; surprisingly unsophisticated details
