The Scene
A sports bar in Wicker Park? Not quite, but Piece comes close enough to make its hipster neighbors raise an eyebrow. Games are shown on a projection screen and on TVs above the curvy bar, and the professional crowd sports more Dockers than DKNY. But with its cement floor, multilevel seating and skylights, this pizza joint is still cooler than just about anything up in Wrigleyville.
The Food
Die-hard deep-dish fans may scoff, but Piece's hand-formed pies have made believers out of Chicago pizza junkies. White pizza starts with olive oil, garlic and mozzarella; topped with spinach and meatball, it boasts a supremely crisp, flaky crust that's as flavorful as its toppings. The "plain" style is far from it, boasting tomato sauce, Parmesan and garlic. Add a small, impressive list of international beers bolstered by ales brewed on the premises and you'll be hard-pressed to find a reason to leave.

Overpriced, no cheese, hard crust. NO WAY IN HELL REPRESENTS CHICAGO PIZZA!!! Lived in Chicago for over 24 years and was very disapointed after several recommendations from friends. I would rather grab a frozen pizza from dominicks. If you have ever had market day pizza, it resembles.

A slightly edgy restaurant that offers a piece of many things: pizza, a local bar, micro-brews, sports, art and entertainment. Try ordering two small pizzas -- a staple you know you'll like and something daring. Everytime I've done this in a group, most people have preferred the unique creation. The choices of crusts and toppings create an everlasting set of options. Likewise, the bar itself seems like an almost different place at different times. In the afternoon, it's just a local pizza place with a bar to one side. During sporting events, it's packed with fans who can see TVs thoughout half the large open main room. On a Friday or Saturday, it's a 20 to 30-something hang-out for people who refuse to completely become part of the establishment. In short, it's a fantastic place with great pizza and wonderful selection of brews. Try it!
Pros: Great, unique pizza; good selection of microbrews, great atmosphere
Cons: Long waits during peak weekend hours
