DJ's, Dancing, Amazing night out

  • Amazing Live DJs
  • Outdoor Patio
  • Private Parties

Spoon is a high energy lounge located in the heart of Oldtown. We are focused on delivering unparallel service, great music, and an amazing night out. Live DJs including DJ Flipside and DJ speed pump out hip hop/pop mashups in our intimate setting. Summer is here and our outdoor patio is the perfect place for sipping on vodka lemonades, Margaritas (on tap!!!!), or just chillin out with a 40. Both a destination spot and neighborhood hang, Spoon is an institution in Chicago Nightlife. Bottle service is always available and sunday night is industry night! Plan your next party here and we promise you a night you won't forget....or maybe you will!!!

Editorial Review for Spoon – by Fred Schlatter

The Scene
Understated style in the form of masculine brown lounge-seating, burnt orange throw-pillows, large swaths of exposed brick and soaring vaulted ceilings dresses up the lofted space. A mirror-backed bar features customized bottle shelving and modern chrome-accented stools where a 20-something crowd sips cocktails. The spacious loft area provides great vantage points, another smaller bar and booths and tables for cocktail service.

The Draw
The well-liked martini list features favorites like the Barely Legal made with Ketel One Citroen, pineapple juice and peach and sour apple liqueurs garnished with a floating edible orchid, among other sweet concoctions. Bottle service is a pricier option, but just as popular on weekends for those who want table service. A smart menu features regional comfort food dishes such as the popular Philly cheese steak with onion bread pudding or Cajun spiced sweet potato fries served with horseradish crema.

Insider Tips

Look Good

For a neighborhood nightspot, the club is on the dressier side; too casual gear is frowned upon, and tennis shoes and sports attire are outright banned. Jeans with something black is the uniform.

The Extras

A capable sound system delivers crisp highs and rich lows perfect for conversation, while the half-dozen plasmas show sports and video montages if talking isn't your thing.

Where to Sit

The patio doubles the sitting space, making for a location for pleasant-weather weekend people-watching.

Had a birthday party here last Friday and it was awesome! We had the entire upstiars loft area to ourselves from 9-12. We met Tlyer the manger who could not have been funnier(guy w mustache). My friends were hesitant at first about having it at Spoon because it usually gets so packed. We had plenty of room up there to do whatever we wanted. Usually bars will charge a fee upfront for the party room space, but not here. We would be crazy not to have all our parties at Spoon.

Pros: Fantastic Party Room

Cons: Can get crowded the later it gets

I was recommended Spoon by a friend of mine who had a party there. It more than lived up to our expectations. We had 2 personal bartenders solely for our party! Music was great, stiff drinks and freindly staff. What a memorable experince, would recommend to anyone looking for a private party room.

Pros: Great professional staff

Cons: Crowded
