Editorial Review for Spoon – by Fred Schlatter
The Scene
Understated style in the form of masculine brown lounge-seating, burnt orange throw-pillows, large swaths of exposed brick and soaring vaulted ceilings dresses up the lofted space. A mirror-backed bar features customized bottle shelving and modern chrome-accented stools where a 20-something crowd sips cocktails. The spacious loft area provides great vantage points, another smaller bar and booths and tables for cocktail service.
The Draw
The well-liked martini list features favorites like the Barely Legal made with Ketel One Citroen, pineapple juice and peach and sour apple liqueurs garnished with a floating edible orchid, among other sweet concoctions. Bottle service is a pricier option, but just as popular on weekends for those who want table service. A smart menu features regional comfort food dishes such as the popular Philly cheese steak with onion bread pudding or Cajun spiced sweet potato fries served with horseradish crema.

Insider Tips
Look GoodFor a neighborhood nightspot, the club is on the dressier side; too casual gear is frowned upon, and tennis shoes and sports attire are outright banned. Jeans with something black is the uniform.
The ExtrasA capable sound system delivers crisp highs and rich lows perfect for conversation, while the half-dozen plasmas show sports and video montages if talking isn't your thing.
Where to SitThe patio doubles the sitting space, making for a location for pleasant-weather weekend people-watching.

I was recommended Spoon by a friend of mine who had a party there. It more than lived up to our expectations. We had 2 personal bartenders solely for our party! Music was great, stiff drinks and freindly staff. What a memorable experince, would recommend to anyone looking for a private party room.
Pros: Great professional staff
Cons: Crowded

I threw a birthday party here and it was the biggest mistake ever. I had five friends verbal/sexually assaulted by the bouncer with the mohawk from tinley park at the bar the night of my party. When a complain with the manager was made the manager responsed with "what do you want me to do." This is not appropriate at all, nor is it a response that a manager should provide. I brought over 30 people that night, and am in shock at how they were treated. All of them complained about being asked to pay extra for certain bottle beers, even though the package I had included all bottle beers. I am highly disappointed and will never be returning.
