Editorial Review for Jumbalia – by Lindsay Beller
The Scene
Owners and sisters Marsha Kaeseberg and Claudia Coleman opened their store to offer a unique and fun selection of gifts, crafts, jewelry and antiques that can't be found anywhere else--or at least not at Crate & Barrel or Ikea. They succeed with a delightful mishmash of handcrafted items, like an impressive hand-carved totem pole covered with crushed limestone.
The Goods
The store's charm lies in its odd and unusual items: furry, mounted (and definitely fake) animal heads; glassware with hand-painted rooster designs; and ornately beaded statues by Julie Wishmeyer. Jewelry starts as low as $6 and includes a mix of styles like Nepali necklaces and French silver. Better than average candles, picture frames, ornaments, ceramic knickknacks and greeting cards are also available. Absolutely everything--from display cases to the chandeliers that light the store--is for sale; just ask for a price.

this place is fabulous. i split my time between chicago and new york city and i can tell you that everytime i am in town i have to go by this great store. the stuff is always changing, and they always have the latest trends! its incredible -- i'll see it here before i see it in ny. plus its affordable. i just did my christmas shopping there for the 3rd year in a row -- got some great things, and even some stuff on sale. this place is a must.
Pros: Great service, helpful employees, great prices

I was just at Jumbalia on Wells Street this weekend shopping for a Valentine's gift for my girlfriend. The sales girl was great, she really helped me out and I found the perfect gift at a great price. Normally, I would never take the time to do a review of any kind, but this was actually a great shopping expereince. The music in the store was great, the store is really cool looking and they have such an incredible array of items. As a matter of fact, I'm glad the sales girl was so helpful, because it was hard to make up my mind. I would recommend this store to any guy looking for gifts.
Pros: A+ Service, A+ selection, great location
