Excellent vegetarian options.
Excellent food with tasty vegetarian options! Flavor is added from use of fresh variety of vegetables and appropriate spices and NOT from dumping in extra cocunut milk to each dish. We order out from Amarind's weekly, its awesome! Their vegetable red curry with tofu is a mainstay for us! Even our meat-eating family and friends request to be taken there during repeat visits.
The place itself has average decor and is family-friendly in nature...depends what you are looking for...Regardless, the food and friendly service makes Amarind's a place worth visiting/ordering from...I love it. Great food is hard to find.
Savor the colors and flavors of exquisite Thai cuisine at truly delectable prices..
The Scene
The castle-like exterior has medieval qualities, but step inside and the warm aromas of Thai cuisine fill the air. The dining room--modest, homey and impeccably clean--fills quickly with casually dressed diners. Service is gracious and unrushed.
The Food
Appetizers delight with striking colors and artistic presentation: bite-sized dumplings served with a racy red chili sauce; the fried stuffed wings are tender inside, golden-crispy outside; delicate fluted pastry cups filled with corn, peas, mushrooms and cilantro suggest flavors of summer. Entrees impress with splashes of color punctuating each richly flavored dish. Basil chicken delivers subtle flavors and an even texture while nippy three-flavored beef is complemented by the freshness of bell peppers and squash. Wide, toothsome noodles in the pad lad nar are bathed in light sauce accented by baby bok choy. For dessert, mung bean custard, cubed and served in a checkerboard pattern, is subtly sweet.
A Real Find. This is the place to go to taste delicious thai food that is also affordable. can be crowded (long waits even after ordering) as the place isnt too large, but worth it. a real great addition to chicago's thai restaurants.
Delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience from the moment I walked into Amarinds. Ordering was very pleasant and the menu was easy and had everything I wanted to order. When the food arrived I was surprised by how great it was. The service was great and I give Amarinds a thumbs up.
Best Thai in town!!!. My wife and I eat out Thai more oftne than any other cuisine. When friends brought us to Amarind, we were blown away by the incredible food! Bring your own wine and sample as many items as possible. WARNING: Some patience is required. Amarind became very popular, very quickly (due to tremendous reviews) and some growing pains are evident. Dialog with servers can be a chalenge at times and there may be a short wait for a table. The spectacular food is well worth the minor shortcomings!!!
Best cheap Thai in Chicago. Thai food is either excellent but too expensive, or cheap and mediocre. Amarind's has found a nice mix. The Pad Thai and Pad See ewe are top-notch. The service is pretty good.
