Excellent Place.
We went there last night - a group of 4 of us were in the front of the restaurant with the guy playing the guitar. Very fun automosphere. Fun was all outstanding. We are all those who appreciate fine
dining and was a little apprehensive about going b/c it seemed pricey for a Mexican place.
However, the appetizer we got - a sampling of their ceviches - was amazing - one was better than the other. My entree was the best - it was the Casa Borracha and it was awesome. The lamb was a bit disappointing - very small portion and not the best I have ever had, but still good. Everything else was great as well - a shrimp dish and the salmon special - we were very happy here and will definitely go back.…
interesting mexican fare and great margaritas.
i ate here one week after visiting frontera grill and i have to say its almost as good and half the price. the food was really excellent and the specials were really , well, special. much tastier and
more interesting than the standard mexican place with some really great regional dishes.
try the "fresca" margaritas, bettter than rick bayless'.…
Great service & Live music. I went here on a Sunday night with three friends. We were seated promptly and the waitress was very attentive. The most memorable part of the night was the live music (man with guitar)...it gave a nice vibe to the place. The tableside guacamole was ok, but I prefer Adobo Grill. We saw a lot of couples around, the private booths lends itself to romanitic dining. My entree (shrimp w/ cucumber mango salsa) was good, but smelled a little fishy. The Filet with Rocquefort was very tasty, perfectly cooked. I wish I had gotten that dish! We had the chocolate tamale for dessert and it was very good. Not too sweet, not too rich. However, it's not the cheapest mexican food around.…
Delightful!. We've gone to Las Palmas three times in the past month and I can't wait to go back. The food is amazing, the staff is efficient and friendly and the atmosphere is decidedly hip. The empanadas are unbelievable!!!! My goal is to try every entree and so far I've enjoyed the puerco indigeno the most.…
Good Mexican food. Not too fancy. Basics are great.. This place is great. They don't try and overdo the food like other Mexican restaurants in Chicago. The basics with some creativity. You'll be satisfied with most items on the menu. Staff is very friendly and attentive. When making a reservation ask for the back patio. It's a nice spot in early/late summer or fall. Guitarist plays on weekends.…
