“This is not a place you go for fabulous service or ambience.”
“The quality of the food has been consistently good.”
“This is both my fiance and my favorite Thai restaurant in Chicago.”
“The service is nice though.”
“Service can be a tad slow but the food is worth the wait.”
“......The other Thai restauants don't compare to the quality and freshness of there cuisine, Tom ka is the best I've had in a long time”
lied for food. Somebody they was lied everything. In the 4 years we came to jitlada Thaihouse we must go to hospital because here!.............very dirty. We don't understand why they said thatclean.....nonot clean in here sure. And waited said bad too. We don't like waited a food very long time. we think don't come here again and very afraid.
Tasty Thai Food. I really can't understand all the negative reviews of Jitlada below. This is not a place you go for fabulous service or ambience. What Jitlada has is reasonably priced, tasty Thai food made with fresh ingredients. The tempura is delicious, as are the noodle dishes, basil fried rice, tom kha, and the curries. It's also a great place for vegetarians as they let you choose tofu as a protein in almost every dish. I live close by and go almost once a week. The quality of the food has been consistently good. Even when you order a medium spicy dish it is very hot. Order something very spicy, and you'll be sweating for sure.

Romantic
After the Cubs game this week, my wife and I had stopped having dinner at near by restaurant, Jitlada Thai House. Since our last visit in May 2008, after remodeled in May 2008, it totally changed, the food was every fresh, flavorful, and delicious. Cubs game night was very busy, now there are 17 tables which can seated 60 customers, the service was excellent, romantic candles light on every tables the servers were very police and clean. My wife ordered Shrimps Tempura, Green Curry with Chicken and I ordered Chicken Stay and Shrimps Pad Thai, Medium (little to hot for me). We really enjoyed our dinner at Jitlada Thai House. My wife and I voted 5 Stars on Food, Service, Cleanness, and atmosphere. We are highly recommended.
no no. no no...no no.....nnnnnno. Hate it hate it hate it. I use to live across the street from this place and the food is awful. I even went back like a fool two and three times. When it comes to Thai food I always go for the pad Thai. I keep thinking that maybe they just were having a bad day, maybe there was a blue flu in the kitchen and they hired the disgruntled cta workers from the depot next store, but no. It was the same every time. The noodles are always over cooked and the sauce has no flavor just a ton of spice. I've tried it with no spice, med spice, and somewhere inbtw but it always is the same....an inferno in my mouth. The service is nice though. While I've never eaten in the counter people are always cheery and understanding. Come to think of it...I've also tried the crab Rangoon and it was like a fried cream cheese disaster....blah...just not good.
Low Thai food. My husband and I live in the lakeview area and decided to give here a shot one night as we were walking by with our son. We had our stroller with us and the host sat us pinned into a corner, so much so that the bus boys had to pass hot plates of food across the stroller and over our son. Our waitress was one of the rudest we have come across, talking by the bar for 10 mintues with staff before even bothering to approach our table. She forgot to drop the order for one of our appetizers, and we when asked where it was she stated, "you never ordered that." She never came back to check on our entrees and took forever to cash us out. As for the food, it was paired oddly and one dish was cold that was supposed to be hot. The dishes looked as if they had sat under a hot lamp for awhile, and the lamb/duck combo was tiny in portion and served with the blandest mixture of lentils and vegetable. I felt as if we paid Euro prices for Thai food, and it was obvious that the waitress felt as if we should be serving her. Never again.

I don't see what the hype is about. For Thai places, this is one of the worst in the city! Once you get past the remedial decor (guys don't bring dates here) and the smell, I found the pad thai to be bland and has almost no chicken. "
ploy. I am Thai lady lived in Chicago 11 years ago. I and my husband came to dinner of Jitlada thaihouse but we had unhappiness because Pad Thai it was very poor and waited they are said not good.
