With one of the best music playlists in the city, Trace's chill and loungy feel can provide a year-round haven from the "A-typical" Wrigleyville haunt without sacrificing its status as a premier spot to catch a game.

From our plush candlelit leather booths, large screen plasma TV's and top-notch premium beer and liquor selection to our exclusive second-floor party room, we cater to all the indulgences of our clientle.

Tuesdays, you can sit back and experience the Polyrhythmic Open-Mic nite, which was voted one of the top two open mics in the city by Chicago Magazine. Here you'll see some of the nations top poetry talent performing.

Editorial Review for Trace – by Maura York

The Scene
Wrigleyville residents and Cubs fans who don't need to party themselves sick take solace in this sedate two-story space near the ballpark. Not that a healthy respect for sports isn't tolerated: The main floor has a slighty sporty aspect, including several TVs flank the large bar. Upstairs, talk of strikes and outs gives way to striking a pose on the dance floor and hanging out with a reasonably sized crowd, a relief in a neighborhood known for mostly sardine-tight social scenes. Dark wood throughout perpetuates a cozy feel, and music-themed artworks by local painter David Powers add color and culture.

The Draw
A hearty beverage selection includes everything from draft beer to Dewar's 12. Many consider Trace's jukebox one of the best in town, featuring a mix of classic rock and alternative selections favored by the mostly 20- to 30-something crowd. The bar also frequently hosts live acoustic acts.

Gotta love a bar that caters to music snobs downstairs and everyone else upstairs. The owner/bartending staff are excellent and know how to make everyone feel welcome!!!!
