Editorial Review for Tavish – by John Gerard McLaughlin
In Short
Unobtrusive music, comfortable booths and warm dark colors make Tavish a destination for couples and small groups bent on a night of conversation. Comfort food like hamburgers and Southwest-style meat loaf are popular food choices here, and beverages include a selection of Irish and British beers. The original tin ceiling remains from the bar's earlier lives as a restaurant and candy store.

Insider Tips
The ExtrasTavish's two back rooms are available for private parties, and have a '40s/'50s feel to them, probably because they used to be part of an apartment.

This bar used to be pretty fun and layed back. It is still layed back, but fun left the door a long time ago. It has become so layed back it is essentially asleep. Their sliders however could be the best in the city and are the ONLY reason my friends and I go there from time to time. I would recommend going there in the summer because you can guarantee the small outdoor area will be empty like the rest of the bar or to get sliders.
Pros: Sliders and Always Empty If You Want to Get a Table
Cons: Always Empty

I have been going to Tavish at least once a week and have tried a good deal of the menu items. Best bets...Sandwiches, Pizza and some of the Pasta dishes. The staff is always cordial and the drinks keep flowing! Great sangria and good specials most nights. A definite must try with a wonderful beer garden.
Pros: Great Food, Nice crowd
