Poorest customer service in the chicago land area, toxic chemicals applied regardless of customer request

We made the mistake of asking them to come one fall long ago to service our lawn. Then we moved to organic and did it ourselves but they kept coming, spraying forever. This spring they finally stopped,but kept billing. Now we are in collections for not paying for services we repeatedly asked them to stop providing. Don't let them come - unless you want to pay forever. You will not be able to terminate the service contract, no matter what you send them in writing or who you call. Customer service has no authorization to solve any problems, basically, and their managers don't return calls.

- Cons: they want your money, but don't deliver. Chemicals made us sick.

I have had Scotts Lawn Service for 2 years now, and my lawn never looked better. I am a new homeowner and when I moved into my house, the lawn looked horrible. I Scotts came out and did a free estimate for me, called me to see if I had any questions and then I signed up for service. Within 2 weeks I had my first treatment. I still had weeds on my lawn after 2 weeks so I called their office. I was told there are some weeds that are harder to get rid of than others, but that with my service guarantee - they would send someone out in 2 business days. They were there on Monday morning and sprayed the weeds, sure enough the weeds curled and died.
I have had some more weeds on my lawn over the past 2 years and each time I have called they have been out within a few days to treat. I asked to speak with my lawn tech and he called back in 24 hours and we discussed every question I had.
This year I had grubs. horrible little things. Turned my lawn brown, I called up asked if they treated them was told they did and gave me a price. Was a bit higher than I wanted but I agreed and in a matter of weeks, my lawn is green again and barely a sign that there was any browning. I look forward to working with this company again and I recommended and will recommed this company to anyone that asks.

- Cons: Apply applications in rain, but asked them not to for me and they honored.

Unhappy with service all around.

My lawn looks just "okay". Lots and lots of weeds.........even after multiple requests for treatment. Scott's Lawnservice is supposed to use the best product and I'm not sure why my lawn looks just "okay"......I can only guess! We follow the cutting and watering directions..but lawn does not look like its treated professionally. My experience with this branch of Scott's has been terrible. Scott's advertises that they will come back until your happy. Not the case here...they take your calls, apologize and even put a manager in charge of my lawn.....the manager did not take care of my lawn (empty promise) he sent a tech to do it. Manager did not return multiple calls and never came out. Scott's said they came once to spray the weeds. I was home all day - no one came nor have they been out since (again multiple calls). I recieved nothing but empty promises and a so-so looking lawn with LOTS of weeds. I would hate to see someone else waste their money on this company. I've cancelled my "service" and am going to go with a friends referral instead. I would NOT recommend this branch of Scotts to my worst enemy.
- Pros: You don't have to treat your own yard......but you could do a better job than Scott's
- Cons: Customer Service, Management, Returning Calls
