“I've been going to Peggy Kinnane's for a long time and have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere.”
disregaurd ex-employee review. I have been going to Peggy Kinnane's for a long time and my first visit there I had a problem with my meal not coming out the way I wanted. the owner was very nice about the problem and took my meal off the bill. I keep going back bc of the way my problem was handle by the owner. I understand mistakes can happen being that I worked as a server thro college. What matters to me is how the business makes the wrong right. Go to Peggy Kinnane's the food is awesome and the place is very big and the owner is there all the time to make sure you leave happy.
Unprofessional Management.

9/20/2009 I used to frequent Peggy's. However, my boyfriend and I went there and both our orders were prepared wrong, even though we went over it with the waiter twice. That aside, my bf's meal came out and 20 min later, he is done with his and I am told mine is still cooking. I sought out the manager who actually was the owner and very politely & professionally asked a) when my order would be up & b) if he could please remove the charge from our bill, as my bf had already finished his food. The owner immediately raised his voice at me, told me that's his decision to make
and never get up to talk to him again. He then proceeded to bring over my food, sit down next to me, yell at me saying I went up to him refusing
to pay, all until my boyfriend had to step in to get the OWNER of Peggys to stop yelling at me. He lied, screamed and took my food away, telling my bf to 'take her home.' At that point, we only had one beer. His excuse for yelling at his customer was that it was crowded in there.
Neither myself not any of my friends will EVER go there again, and I highly advise others of the same. God forbid your food is made wrong; you'll end up with a long wait and an extremely unprofessional owner yelling at you. Go to Harrys across the street instead.
Very bad choice. Fake cheese. bones in the fish, dessert served in a paper cup it came in. Mac and cheese bread only deep fried stones. cheap cutbacks for mega dollars.
Outstanding environment. Feel right at home. So relaxing.. I just love this place. Been going here for years. New menu is great. Food is great. Staff is so friendly and attentive. Wish I could go everyday.
That wasn't Irish food!!!!!!. I've had much better Irish food on the Southside of Chgo. This place was average and I think the drinks were weak. Irish stew was bland and had no flavor, I guess I went on the wrong night. So many great reveiws and I thought that it would be good. I was wrong ,will stay away . till I hear better.
Comfortable suburban spot draws crowds for pub.
In Short
This large, comfortable space is packed with imported Irish decor; a fair-sized patio gets crowded when the weather is decent, and weekend nights often see a wait. Irish pub favorites are done well, from thick burgers to fish and chips, Irish stew and shepherd's pie. Friday-Saturday nights feature live Irish bands, while Sundays host an authentic Irish brunch. Try the Irish fry--eggs, Irish bacon, Irish sausage, black-and-white pudding and potato patties.
Nice Family Place.
I don't usually wirte reviews, but after going to Peggy's many times with the whole family intow I felt the need to set the record straight about this place. Having read some of the negative reviews I can only believe that they were penned by someone with an axe to grind against the owner or his staff. Maybe an exemployee or a drunk whom they would not tolerate in a family establishment.
Every time my family has been there the service has always been great (which is hard to find having 2 kids with severe food allergies). The food quality has always been fantastic, but watch out for the wings, they are hot...
All in all every time we have been at Peggy's we have never been dissappointed.
Peggy's is the Best in the Northwest Suburbs Period!. Just have to say I've been going to Peggy's regularly for many years. It's the best bar in the northwest suburbs, Period. I dine out every week all over Chicago and the northwest suburbs and return to Peggy's because of the great staff, upscale clean environment, and excellent food. The staff is ALWAYS friendly and do take the time to say hi, making you feel welcome. I love the Shepard's pie, meatloaf, cornbeef, just to name a few. In fact Peggy?s food is the closest to a home cooked meal I?ve ever had! The negative reviews written previously sound more like a personal vendetta against the establishment rather than an honest review. Yes it was awarded Business of the Year, and it's for a reason. When passing through our great town of Arlington Heights, you must stop in for a pint and some great food! Peggy's is simply the best. Period.
Best irish Pub experience. I have been a patron of Peggy's since its inception. I am honestly puzzled by some of the poor reviews this restaurant has recently received. The food is consistenly excellent. The staff friendly and knowledgeable. There is a very large selection of excellent beers, spirits and wines. The place is extremely clean. The atmosphere is genuine as it should be considering most if not all of the furnishings were shipped from Ireland. The owner ( a native of Templemore, Tipperary) is genuinely concerned that your dining experience is enjoyable. This business has been a mainstay of downtown Arlington Heights since opening and in fact won Business of the Year for that town in 2006. If you want an authentic Irish pub experience, I highly recommend this establishment.
Brings Arlington Heights to Life. I have been a frequent customer of Peggy Kinnane's since it opened for very good reasons, and all of my friends and colleagues with whom I go there would agree. The service is great simply because the management is excellent. The food is great!! Everyone goes to Peggy's for its Shepherd's Pie, no doubt about it!! The mashed potatoes are phenomenal (I wish I could make them like that at home!). All of the food there is comforting and would not be enjoyed in any other Irish pub. Peggy's is also very, very clean. Yes, you could eat off the floors!!! I felt compelled to write this review out of sheer surprise at some of the other misguided reviews that are certainly NOT representative of Peggy's. So, I will try to be "pithy" in my last comments. It is my belief that some of those misguided reviews were written by disgruntled people for some reason or another. That definitely makes those reviews invalid and not constructive at all. Don't let those reviews deter you from spending time at Peggy's. It is in the heart of Arlington Heights, and is most certainly the heartbeat of Arlington Heights for all to enjoy.
