In Short
Dick Portillo opened his first restaurant from a trailer with no running water in 1963 in Villa Park, Ill. Today, each location has a unique theme that reflects the founder's love of history and Chicago. Menu favorites include Chicago-style hot dogs (topped with mustard, relish, onions, tomatoes, pickle and sport peppers), Polish sausages, Italian beef sandwiches, salads, burgers and more. Sides include onion rings, fries, soup and for dessert there's chocolate cake, lemon cake or strawberry shortcake.

If you want a quick meal that will satisfy your appetite for a Chicago style dog, grab one here. But their Italian beef is really my favorite. The setting is no frills with cafeteria type tables. You place your order in a line, but it is amazing to watch how fast they get you through. Generous size sandwiches; super fries. I have been to their location in Schaumburg and it is a nicer atmosphere and has a broader selection. But this one is the real old fashioned way of getting your hot dog fix. Recommend.

To make a long story short... the food was good. But no food is good enough to make up for the poor customer service and errors made on 4 separate occasions (1 time a catering mistake). And on the 4th visit, they wouldn't honor past promises to make up for it. They have lost a customer. EX of mistakes: wrong item given during Drive thru (not too bad) over charged and refused to correct it, I lost money Put hot catered food in freezed DAY OF EVENT, couldn't eat it Finally, wasn't helpful in fixing any of the problems.
