Nautical decor and a N'awlins vibe prevail at this boisterous chain known for its family-friendly atmosphere. Fried alligator is a popular beginner when available. Oysters Pappadeaux with crabmeat, spinach and hollandaise sauce offers an alternative. Gumbo, po boys, shrimp etouffee and crawfish are among the entree essentials. My overall experience here was not up to my expectations. The food quality was poor, service was terrible. This place was poorly managed. I would not recommend eating here.

Pappadeaux serves us pretty good Cajun flavored seafood. The service is very good but the restaurant semms to be overcrowded and noisy. The interior decor does not lend itself to a good dining experience. The food itself comes in large portions (as usual) and everything seemed fresh and seasoned. Overall it was a good dining experience.

Based upon the good reviews that I read on this, and other sites, my husband and I took a friend who was visiting from the UK, to Pappadeaux's. Once we were seated, we waited for fifteen minutes before the waiter showed up. I ordered a cocktail before the meal--which arrived twenty minutes later with my sandy and lukewarm chowder. There was no bread brought to our table until we were almost done with our soup--which was ultimately no great loss, because it was over-soft, and chewy, as if it had been microwaved. I ordered the New Orleans fillet--a tilapia--which was a nice enough piece of fish, but covered in a gloppy sauce. Very overpriced. My husband ordered fried catfish which was fine and our friend ordered shrimp creole which had lots of shrimp but was nothing special. We ordered some mixed vegetables to go with our meal which we had to chase the waiter down to get. We had to chase them down for everything. We were very embarrassed to have taken our friend there and we will never go back.
