What People Are Saying About Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen

In Short – Nautical decor and a N'awlins vibe prevail at this boisterous chain known for its family-friendly atmosphere. Fried alligator is a popular beginner when available. Oysters Pappadeaux with crabmeat, spinach and hollandaise sauce offers an alternative. Gumbo, po boys, shrimp etouffee and crawfish are among the entree essentials. Desserts include bread pudding with bourbon sauce, sweet potato pecan pie and praline cheesecake.
Editor's Tips
- The Extras:
- Live crawfish are available seasonally from mid-March to mid-May. While eating them can be an acquired taste and some find the experience intimidating, the restaurant demystifies these delicacies on its website.

Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen Westmont
by Chameka at Citysearch
Back in May my sister, mother and myself enjoyed a very nice lunch at the Westmont location, the decor was welcoming i especially liked the pathway leading into the restaurant. Our waiter was very attentive and everything he suggested was very tasty i was initially scared to try the fried alligator he suggested the sampler platter now i can't wait to go back and order that alligator to go everyone should try this restaurant and the prices were very reasonable oh yeah the gumbo is the best i have tasted
Horrible service -cooks were fistfighting

I have been to this restataurant a couple of years ago when it opened and was very excited because I loved the one in Dallas. But I went back there last week and our service was simply horrible. Waiter "Cory" was extremely rude and forgot everything. We had to get another waiter 5 times to get our stuff because Cory was nowhere to be found. Then on top of "not cooked enough food" we witnessed a fist fight between 2 cooks in the kitchen which our 2 children heard all the nasty swearwords that were exchanged. I will never go there again-simply awful
Decent Cajun seafood

Pappadeaux serves us pretty good Cajun flavored seafood. The service is very good but the restaurant semms to be overcrowded and noisy. The interior decor does not lend itself to a good dining experience. The food itself comes in large portions (as usual) and everything seemed fresh and seasoned. Overall it was a good dining experience.
Terrible service, mediocre food.

Based upon the good reviews that I read on this, and other sites, my husband and I took a friend who was visiting from the UK, to Pappadeaux's. Once we were seated, we waited for fifteen minutes before the waiter showed up. I ordered a cocktail before the meal--which arrived twenty minutes later with my sandy and lukewarm chowder. There was no bread brought to our table until we were almost done with our soup--which was ultimately no great loss, because it was over-soft, and chewy, as if it had been microwaved. I ordered the New Orleans fillet--a tilapia--which was a nice enough piece of fish, but covered in a gloppy sauce. Very overpriced. My husband ordered fried catfish which was fine and our friend ordered shrimp creole which had lots of shrimp but was nothing special. We ordered some mixed vegetables to go with our meal which we had to chase the waiter down to get. We had to chase them down for everything. We were very embarrassed to have taken our friend there and we will never go back.
