Awesome Jewelers!. This place is fantastic! The jewelry is what dreams are made of, and Mr. Miller and his staff go out of their way to be helpful. No one was snobbish as I read in an earlier review---quite the opposite. I wasn't in the shop to make a purchase---just to get an appraisal for a ring--and still, they went out of their way to clean my ring (which was purchased elsewhere and required a special soaking), and give me a proper appraisal.
High prices, High noses.. I shopped here for an engagement ring before, the settings were a little steep for me( Some nice stuff but 7K and no rock with it ?). I ended up finding one on vacation in AZ. I bought the stone in from a dealer in CAL. When I got home I visited 2 jewelers to get the stone set, they both said no problem, but had 1 week turn around, one place wanted $60, the other $100. I called MJ told them what I had, they said no appointment they have jewelers there all the time, they can set it in 2 hours, it would be $200. To get it done quickly I was willing to pay the premium, I went over there, they immediately said I would have a tough time finding anybody to set it when it wasn't purchased from them, I told them I already talked to 2 others that said they would do it, they then said they can do it, but they would need a week. I asked about doing on the spot or even coming back and making an appointment to do it. They said no I would have to leave it, then said they have cracked stones in the past and would not be liable to what happen to it when they had it ( I understand that can happen, but the other 2 jewelers looked and it and said no problem. It really didn't give me a warm and fuzzy to their confidence in their skills), and said it would be $300. I asked why so much? They said because of the size and risk, which I still could not figure out since they just told me they would be responsible if anything happened to the rock while they had it. At that point I was walking out (thinking the $300 of work wasn?t worth it to them) and they asked me where I was taking it I told them where (tdc a reputable jeweler around for 20 years and has all 5 star reviews on this site). They said I should not take it there, I asked them why and they said because they don?t know him (talk about pompous). To make a long story short don't waste your time unless you have money to burn. There are a lot better and more honest jewelers out there that provide a better experience.
