Families and an after-work crowd come to this relaxed Tex-Mex chain for sizzling fajitas and a buzzing bar scene..
In Short
Festive decor of colorfully tiled tables, vintage photographs and sunny Southwestern accents welcomes an all-ages crowd at this informal hangout. Youngsters and their parents pile into dining room booths; casual business types toss back margaritas and watch televised sports at the bar. The menu features mild versions of Lone Star state favorites, from double-basted baby back ribs and steak fajitas to red-beef chili and deep-fried onions.
Great customer service. The minute my boyfriend and I walked into Chilis we were welcomed by two smiling hosts. We chose to sit in the bar area because it was first come first served, so we didn't have to wait for a dining room table. Our waitress was super friendly and smiling, gave great fast service. She made us feel like we were her only table even though we could see that was not the case. We ordered our appetizer (nachos with chicken and guacamole, very good!). The ambience was nice, not too loud, not too quiet and stuffy. The only downside were little kids running around the bar area while their family waited for a table. Personally, families with little children should avoid bar areas and/or keep their children well behaved. A manager came by to visit us and see how our meal was so far. Her name was Carrie and she was very friendly and funny. We mentioned the kids and she cracked a few jokes and said she would do what she could. Our meals then came out and were delicious! My steak was a little over cooked (I ordered medium rare) which I mentioned to the waitress. She offered to have a another steak cooked for us and the same manager came by and apologized and offered to buy us dessert. That was a sweet gesture and the white chocolate cake was awesome! The food was great (except for the tempurature mishap) and the service was spectacular. Go there for great customer service and great food!
Southwest Good Eating. If your tastes run to the TexMex cuisine...there is no better place for a fun quick and easy meal. The food is always hot and the service can be just as good as the food. Watch out for busy times though...the young staff does easily get overwhelmed. Good menu that tries to keep up with the trends...too bad they don't seem to be trendsetters. And a good kids menu too!
