The Scene – Sofitel, near O'Hare International Airport, carries out its French theme with flower boxes and balconies painted on the walls above the lobby and with the word "le" (French for "the") in front of certain words like Le Bar. The indoor pool with attached sun deck offers an air traffic controller's view of O'Hare. not all they try to be...

So far so good... Very comfortable King deluxe room... nice amenities... I thought people were kidding about the fake french accents, bu upon arrival- sure enough.. made me laugh... it was kind of tongue in cheek I think... Close to the blue line, about 1/2 hour to an hour to downtown, depending on train service... Pluses: robes, full sized towels, very comfortable bed, incredibly helpful concierge and staff... Downside: (it may seem trivial, but is important to me)- there is no in room coffee maker- I get the impression they expect me to spend money downstairs getting coffee... also- $10 a day for internet seems awfully high... Will be checking out other hot spots in the area...

I was stuck at the Sofitel for 8 weeks and I must tell you the staff did everything in their power to make me feel at home. I have stayed at properites all over the world (currently I am in Saipan at another major name hotel) I would gladly recommend the Sofitel to anyone.

Hotel Sofitel is a wonderfully classy hotel. A very relaxing spot to rest. They have reasonable and very comfortable rooms. There service is impeccable. If you didn't know better you would swear that you are in Europe. They also throw fantastic weddings with unbelievably tasty food (and a great selection of it). There only flaw (and unfortunately it's a big one) is that they no longer have their formerly fantastic Sunday brunch.
