Editorial Review for Sofitel Chicago O'hare – by Citysearch Editors
The Scene
Sofitel, near O'Hare International Airport, carries out its French theme with flower boxes and balconies painted on the walls above the lobby and with the word "le" (French for "the") in front of certain words like Le Bar. The indoor pool with attached sun deck offers an air traffic controller's view of O'Hare. Stocking a variety of French wares, the gift shop offers items that may not be found in more Americanized hotels.
The Details
Renovated along with the meeting spaces in 1997, the 300 guest rooms (11 suites) are decorated in a cheery French country style that is a welcome departure from usual corporate hotel decor. Bay windows in each room add a cozy feeling.

Insider Tips
The ExtrasChez Colette is a casual French restaurant, while pastries can be purchased to go at Le Petit Marche. And in the lobby there's--what else?--Le Bar.

So far so good... Very comfortable King deluxe room... nice amenities... I thought people were kidding about the fake french accents, bu upon arrival- sure enough.. made me laugh... it was kind of tongue in cheek I think... Close to the blue line, about 1/2 hour to an hour to downtown, depending on train service... Pluses: robes, full sized towels, very comfortable bed, incredibly helpful concierge and staff... Downside: (it may seem trivial, but is important to me)- there is no in room coffee maker- I get the impression they expect me to spend money downstairs getting coffee... also- $10 a day for internet seems awfully high... Will be checking out other hot spots in the area...

Pros: Friendly, Excellent Food, Very Comfortable
Cons: It is In Rosemont, Nothing close by, N/A
