decor comortable, great service and unique food!!!. pulled up to complimentary valet (A+), walked in and greeted immediately by a friendly hostess, went into bar to have a few drinks prior to our dinner, the bar staff was outstanding, very attentive, helped with recommendations on wine (so many too choose from), made us feel very welcome like we were regulars! Sat down to dinner in a very cozy warm decor, server was very knowledgeable with menu and recommended items. We chose to go with some of the recommendations and they were outstanding! Food was of high quality, timing was perfect and the chef even stopped by to say hello! This restaurant has a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The chef seemed very passionate and you could tell by the taste of his dishes! It was a very pleasurable expierence from the moment we walked in. Service was great, food was excellent and atmosphere was comofortable. Family owned resturant that made me feel like part of the family. Its quiet on the weekends which is opposite of many resturants- no wait!!! I would recomend this to anyone who is looking for great quality and a good time! Worth the drive if you dont live around the area!
Not so outstanding.
Had reservations on Valentines Day for 8:45 PM, didn't get seated until 9:15 PM. I understand working in the restaurant industry you can't always be accurate on reservations, but after being seated we received NO service for another 20 minutes, at which point we had to waive a bus boy down to get to our server. Once the server took our order he told us it was going to be a while as the kitchen was backed up. It was a 5 course Valentines Day Special. Understandable they were busy, but when we received bread 30 minutes after we sat down, thats when things became unbearable. It took 45 minutes to receive the appetizer. No interaction from our server until we waived him down and then were approached by upper management and told them the situation. 2 hours later, 2 hours, we received the main course, at which this point was a joke..THEY BROUGHT US THE WRONG DISHES! After 2 hours I told the management that this was not acceptable and that the service was horrible from the minute we sat down.
The appetizer that we did receive was good, and they tried to give us free movie tickets! Not acceptable. They did end up comping our entire meal after we told them that this is not what we ordered.
I would not recommend going there on a busy night or holiday.
do NOT eat here.
I had made reservations on Valentines day for 8:15 at Carluccis. They were very busy, so I was expecting a moderate delay pretty much the whole evening. We were seated fairly promptly so the night was off to a fine start. We were seated in a small table and given 1 menu. 1 menu, two people? anyway, we decide what to order (we ordered from the menu with no special request). After an hour, yes AN HOUR after we were seated the waitress came by and informed me that they were out of the dish I had ordered. An hour to tell me they were out? She informed me then promptly vanished. No sorry, no we don't care, nothing. I then decided on something else. In the mean time we had not gotten any drink refills either and it wasn't until I mentioned it that she refilled our drinks. Her explanation was the kitchen was backed up. We then waited another 30 minutes for the food to come out. Once it did, my wife's dish was wrong. She had ordered the rotisserie chicken and the waitress brought chicken Parmesan. When we informed her it was wrong she said, "no this is what you ordered." We then had to explain to the waitress what we ordered and that no, chicken parm was not the same as the open fired chicken listed in the menu. The manager by this time came by and was trying to sort things out. His suggestion was to go ahead and keep the chicken parm since they had already made it and they would get the correct dish out. Not what we wanted. We just wanted the correct food brought to us AN HOUR AGO.
We had 8:15 reservations and it's now 9:40. When they finally bring the correct meal, I was livid since I had a 2 and a 1/2 hour drive ahead of me, it's almost 10pm and we hadn't even started eating. I left and told him not to bother. He said I should have made him aware of this situation. Considering that was the first I had seen of him, it would have been a little difficult.
Great!. My husband and I chose to have our wedding reception at Carlucci recently. One of the deciding factors in choosing Carlucci was the great food, the lovely decor, and the staff. We worked primarily with John Campagna and he was WONDERFUL!!!! Everything went off without a hitch and all of our guests felt very cared for and had a great time. I would HIGHLY recommend Carlucci for any dining and especially for parties.
Loud, smoky and cramped. I have been to three of their Chicago locations and while the food has been average, the service and the ambience are not too impressive. The bar at the Ohare location has no proper ventilation and as a result gets very stuffy. The restaurant is cramped up and too noisy as well. The food is good but is far from authentic and over-priced.
Italian dining in handsome surroundings, convenient to O'Hare and Allstate Arena..
In Short
Savvy business travelers and area locals throng this suburban spot, whose anonymous exterior gives way to a warm, upscale interior with vaulted ceilings and an earth-toned color scheme, including mottled ochre walls and classical murals. The menu features pan-roasted Prince Edward Island mussels bathed in tomato-pinot grigio sauce, and oven-roasted baby octopus with fava beans and salt-cured capers. Garganelli (pasta quills) is partnered with a combination of potatoes, haricots verts and arugula pesto.
