Best mexican food period. This friendly restaurant has great and authentic mexican food at low prices. Must try their burritos, and their chips & salsa!!!! Great lunch specials, and fast service. It has a variety of great mexican dishes. I highly recommend this place.

Like Mexican? The best $10 you can spend is here.. The neighborhood is iffy; the decor is "former-Pizza Hut building" meets "I wonder what we should do with this place" meets high-school cafeteria, and you know what? I wouldn't change a thing. The staff is friendly and surprisingly accommodating to this non-Spanish-speaking, card-carrying member of the nerd culture.

Make no mistake, this is lowbrow Mexican; if you're looking for a dining experience for discriminating out-of-towners, go somewhere else. If you're looking to be the only gringos in a restaurant with friendly staff that really works to understand your English attempts at naming their menu items (and if you know why this is a Good Thing?), then go to Los Compadres. The chips are homemade & fresh, and the salsa is out of this world. The steak in their burritos is always fresh & well seasoned, the avocado is always at the perfect ripeness, and there's always either a soccer game or a racy Mexican soap opera on each of the 27" TVs gracing the four upper corners of the single large room.

We actually DO take discriminating out of towners here, by the way; we just tell them we won't listen to any of their petty complaints about the neighborhood or atmosphere until they eat the food. Once they do that, the neighborhood and atmosphere vanish and they realize why we took them here.

Oh yeah, almost forgot... the red & yellow condiment dispensers on the tables aren't ketchup or mustard, they're habanero & jalape?o sauces, silly!
