CLOSED. This beloved place, had one of the best bread puddings in the world!

Unfortunately closed its doors in 2005!

Longtime Park Ridge favorite scores with global classics and house-made pastries.. In Short
Park Ridge regulars fill this spot, where an indoor garden room features 30-foot-high skylights and scores of knickknacks. Walter's eclectic, global menu presents standards with flair: Each chop in the rack of lamb is arranged on mashed potatoes and sauteed spinach. Black bean soup is a spicy puree topped with sour cream and chopped onions. Delicious house-made pastries make a lovely finish.

Nice play, if your a Senior Citizen. Having just moved to Park Ridge, my wife and I (both in early 30's) decided to try Walters, "one of the better restaurants" in town.

We arrived on a Saturday night to find that we were the only couple under age 60. Furthermore, I felt completely overdressed wearing a button-down and nice dress pants. The owners very friendly and food satisfactory, but the service was relatively poor. My wife ordered from an outdatted 'Daily Specials' insert which wasn't available. The waiter asked me to "select 2 or 3 bottles from the wine list because we are out of a few in the back". We even noticed that "old person smell", like you'd find in your grandma's house.

Walter's looked like the place to be, say 10-15 years ago, but now it appears the owners are more focused on their retirement home in Florida than their restaurant.

Unique Dining Experience. Wonderful scenery awaits you as you walk into this indoor getaway! Spectacular food and fantastic service as well as delicious pastries. A terrific place for large parties and gatherings. Try the Pasta Primavera, or the many fish specials! Beautiful Atmosphere!
